Note: Airport pickup included. If arriving early, consider a short city tour or lagoon boat ride.
Transfer to Kithulgala — First Taste of Adventure
Drive inland to Kithulgala (approx. 2.5–3 hours). After arrival, get fitted with safety gear and enjoy an introductory session before hitting the Kelani River for your first white water rafting experience (Grade II–III rapids). Afternoon free for optional jungle walks or a calm swim.
Tip: Wear quick-dry clothing and bring a change of clothes; waterproof bags are recommended for electronics.
Full Day River Adventures and Waterfalls
Spend another full day exploring the river corridor: extended rafting runs, cliff jumps (optional), and natural rock pools. Midday visit to a nearby waterfall for a picnic and short hike. Evening cultural talk around a bonfire or rest at the lodge.
Level: Moderate — suitable for beginners and experienced rafters with guides present.
Scenic Transfer to Hill Country — Tea & Train
Drive toward the hill country with a stop in Kandy (optional Temple of the Tooth visit) then continue to Nuwara Eliya / Ella. Enjoy a guided visit to a tea plantation and factory with a tasting session. Option to take a scenic train ride in the afternoon — one of Sri Lanka's most photogenic rail journeys.
Important: Train journeys are subject to availability; book seats in advance for the best views.
Down to the Coast — Surf Intro in Weligama
Descend from the hills to the southern coast and arrive in Weligama / Mirissa. Afternoon surf lesson with certified instructors focused on basics: paddling, pop-ups and wave selection. Evening free — great spot for seafood and sunset at the beach.
Note: Beginner-friendly surf spots; instructors provide boards, rash vests and guidance.
Full Surf Day or Optional Whale Watching
Choose between a full day of guided surf coaching and free-surf practice or an early-morning boat trip from Mirissa for whale and dolphin watching (seasonal, recommended Dec–Apr). Afternoon surf, beach relaxation, or explore nearby sandbanks and coastal villages.
Tip: Whale watching should be booked in advance during high season; bring sunscreen and a hat.
Drive to Yala — Evening Safari
Depart early for Yala National Park region. After check-in, rest briefly before heading out on an evening jeep safari into Yala — famous for its leopard sightings, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and diverse birdlife. Return to lodge after the safari.
Important: Safari timings are subject to park regulations; always follow guide instructions for safety.
Morning Safari and Coastal Heritage in Galle
Optional early morning second safari for wildlife photography, then drive west to Galle. Walk the ramparts of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, visit boutiques, cafes and the Dutch colonial architecture. Evening in Galle or continue to Colombo area depending on departure plans.
Tip: Wear comfortable shoes for the Fort's cobbled streets and bring water; many spots have shade and cafes.
Departure via Colombo or Negombo

Sri Lanka Coordinator Picked Up Every Single Time
We were a couple traveling to Sri Lanka for the first time, and honestly I was nervous about handing over the entire planning to someone else. But the coordinator TourGrids assigned us — Priya — was on WhatsApp almost every hour we needed her. Flight timings, cab delays, a hotel room that wasn't ready — she sorted everything before we even had to stress about it. The itinerary covered Colombo, Kandy, and Ella, and each leg was properly organised. No surprise charges at checkout, no confusion with drivers. Even small questions got replies within minutes. My wife kept saying she felt like we had someone traveling with us without actually being there.
One Phone Call Fixed Our Sri Lanka Plans
We were already in Colombo when our Sigiriya hotel cancelled on us — no reason, just a message the night before. My wife panicked, I panicked, but one call to our TourGrids coordinator and he was already on it. Within two hours he had us booked into a better property, same budget, no extra charge. What I appreciated most was that he didn't ask us to wait — he just moved. The rest of the Sri Lanka trip went exactly as planned: cabs were on time, itinerary had the right pace, no surprises on billing. We travelled as a couple and honestly, this was the first trip where I didn't feel like I was managing anything myself.
Sri Lanka Package That Made My Spreadsheet Pointless
I spent two weeks researching Sri Lanka hotels, cabs, and flights on my own before a friend suggested TourGrids. One call with their coordinator and they quoted me a full package — flights, hotel stays in Colombo and Kandy, cab transfers, and a few meals included — at a price that was honestly lower than what I was building myself. Traveled with my wife and everything was pre-sorted without any back-and-forth surprises on the ground. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt like a budget compromise. No hidden charges, no last-minute calls asking for extra money. What I appreciated most was the transparency upfront — they told me exactly what was and wasn't covered.
Sri Lanka for Two, Price Beat My Research
I had spent almost two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, calculating everything. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I had roughly budgeted myself. Traveled with my husband for six nights and the package covered flights, all hotels, intercity transfers, and a few meals. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, no compromises. The coordinator was always reachable on WhatsApp and sorted our Kandy to Ella transfer details on a call before we even landed. No hidden charges at the end, which I was genuinely worried about. Felt like we got more than what we paid for.
Sri Lanka Hotels Were Far Above Our Expectations
We were a couple going to Sri Lanka for our fifth anniversary, and honestly the hotels TourGrids arranged were what made the trip feel special. From Kandy to Ella to Colombo, every property was well-located, clean, and genuinely comfortable — not just 'decent for the price' but actually good. The cab transfers between cities were the other thing I was nervous about, especially since Sri Lanka roads can be tricky. Every driver showed up on time, vehicles were AC and spacious, no last-minute confusion. Our coordinator Priya sorted all the details before we even landed. No surprises at checkout, no hidden charges. Trip ran exactly as planned.
Sri Lanka Cost Less Than My Own Research
I spent two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forums. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I was piecing together myself. My husband and I got a 6-night trip with decent 4-star hotels, all intercity transfers, breakfast daily, and airport pickups both ways. No hidden charges when we actually paid — the final bill matched what was quoted on WhatsApp. The coordinator was easy to reach and sorted our Kandy to Ella train booking without us even asking. Booking independently felt more flexible in theory, but this was just better in practice.
