Arrival in Kochi & Heritage Walk
Arrive at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam railway station and transfer to your hotel in Fort Kochi. After check-in and a short rest, enjoy a guided heritage walk covering the colonial lanes, vibrant murals and waterfronts. Visit Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), the Jewish Synagogue, and the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Evening at leisure with an optional Kathakali demonstration or seaside stroll.

Transfer to Thekkady — Village Introduction & Evening Cultural Show
After breakfast, drive to Thekkady (approx. 4–5 hours) through scenic Western Ghats routes and spice-scented towns. Check in to your plantation stay or village homestay. In the afternoon take a short orientation walk around the estate to familiarize with local crops like pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove. Evening includes a cultural performance such as Kalaripayattu or traditional folk dance.
Note: Roads are hilly — enjoy panoramic vistas and frequent photo stops.

Guided Plantation Walk & Hands-on Cooking Class
Begin with an early guided plantation walk led by a local spice cultivator. Learn to identify black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, and aromatic herbs; participate in light harvesting and spice-processing demonstrations. Post-walk, take part in a hands-on Kerala cooking class where you will prepare regional favourites using freshly picked spices — from masalas to traditional vegetable, fish or vegetarian curries. Enjoy the meal you cook with the homestay family. Afternoon free for rest or optional nature walk.

Periyar Boat Cruise & Village Experiences
Early morning depart for Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for a tranquil boat cruise on Periyar Lake — excellent for birdwatching and spotting wildlife along the shoreline (elephants, deer, boar, if lucky). Return for a village visit: meet local artisans, learn about traditional coir and handicraft production, and visit a nearby market to shop for spices and handmade souvenirs. Evening at leisure with optional short trek or spice-processing demo at the estate.
Important: Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed and depend on seasonal patterns.

Departure via Kochi — Optional Extension
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Kochi for onward transfer to the airport or railway station (approx. 4–5 hours). En route stop at a local spice market for last-minute purchases and photographs of the lush countryside. If time permits, opt to extend your Kerala tour package with a backwaters houseboat stay or additional days in Munnar.
Reminder: Confirm onward travel timings; allow buffer time for road travel through the Ghats.
