Itinerary
Arrival & Fort Kochi Heritage Walk
Arrive at Cochin (Kochi) Airport/Railway Station and transfer to your hotel in Fort Kochi. After check-in, enjoy a heritage walk covering the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) and Jew Town. Evening free — optional classical Kathakali or Kalaripayattu show.
Important: Flight/rail arrival times will determine optional activities for the day.
Drive to Thekkady & Periyar Night Safari
After breakfast, drive to Thekkady / Periyar (approx. 4–5 hours). En route visit a local spice plantation and enjoy a guided walk to learn about spices like cardamom, pepper and cinnamon. In the evening, embark on the thrilling Periyar Night Safari — a guided excursion into the buffer zones to spot nocturnal wildlife such as civets, porcupines and owls.
Note: Night Safari is pre-booked and operated under forest department rules; carry ID for park permits.
Periyar Wildlife Boat Cruise & Nature Walk
Start early with the famous Periyar Lake Boat Cruise — one of the best ways to see elephants, sambar deer, wild boar and a variety of birds along the lakeshore. After the cruise, take an optional guided nature walk or bamboo rafting (seasonal) inside designated trails.
Tip: Carry binoculars and a good telephoto lens for wildlife photography. Morning cruises offer the highest wildlife activity.
Drive to Alleppey & Houseboat Cruise (Backwaters)
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha) and board your traditional Kettuvallam houseboat for an unforgettable backwater cruise through rice paddies, coconut groves and village canals. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay on board — enjoy freshly prepared local Kerala meals.
Note: Houseboats come in private and shared options; confirm your preference at booking.
Disembark & Transfer to Kumarakom — Bird Sanctuary Visit
Disembark mid-morning and transfer to Kumarakom, set on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Check into a lakeside resort and visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary — a prime spot for migratory birds and photography. Spend the evening relaxing at the resort or enjoy an optional Ayurvedic massage.
Tip: Early mornings at the bird sanctuary are best for sighting and capturing migratory species.
Departure via Kochi — Transfer & Drop
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cochin International Airport or Kochi Railway Station for your onward journey. En route, if time permits, stop for quick shopping at local spice markets or Lulu Mall.
Important: Confirm departure transfer timing with your travel coordinator. Early-morning flights may need a pre-booked early transfer.
