Arrive at Dimapur Airport/Railway Station and meet your representative. Drive (approx 2 hours) to Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Check in to the hotel and rest. In the late afternoon, enjoy a relaxed walk around Kohima Market and sample regional Naga cuisine.
Evening: Brief orientation and welcome briefing with local guide.
Tip: Carry light layers — nights can be cool even in warmer months.
Kohima Heritage & Hornbill Grounds
Full-day exploration of Kohima. Visit the iconic Kohima War Cemetery, a moving World War II memorial. Continue to the Nagaland State Museum to understand Naga arts, culture and tribal artifacts.
Afternoon: Drive to Kisama Heritage Village/Hornbill Festival grounds (if visiting during festival dates) for cultural performances, traditional craft stalls and tribal showcases. If off-season, spend time at scenic viewpoints and local craft centers.
Evening: Return to Kohima for dinner with a cultural folk performance (subject to availability).
Note: Hornbill Festival is seasonal—book early during December to secure events and accommodations.
Khonoma Eco-Village & Tribal Immersion
After breakfast, drive to Khonoma (approx 1–1.5 hours), celebrated as India's first green village and known for its conservation ethos. Explore the village on guided walks, meet local hosts, and learn about Khonoma's unique community-led conservation and terrace farming.
Activities: Village walk, visit traditional homes, interact with artisans, optional short trek to viewpoint for panoramas over the verdant valley.
Overnight stay in Khonoma or return to Kohima depending on group preference and accommodation availability.
Tip: Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water. Respect local customs when photographing residents.
Local Culture, Crafts & Community Experiences
Morning focused on hands-on cultural activities: traditional weaving demonstrations, craft workshops, and cuisine tasting (depending on local schedules). Opportunity to visit nearby villages for authentic tribal music and storytelling.
Afternoon: Drive back toward Dimapur with a stop at scenic spots en route, and check in to your Dimapur hotel. Free evening for leisure.
Note: Community experiences depend on local availability and festival timing; we aim for authentic, respectful visits.
Departure from Dimapur

Recent North-East Reviews
Every Hotel in North-East Was a Surprise
We had low expectations from the accommodations honestly, because North-East trips can be hit or miss with properties. But whatever TourGrids picked for us — from Gangtok to Tawang — every hotel was proper good. Clean rooms, decent views, breakfast included, no last-minute downgrades. My wife was genuinely impressed, which doesn't happen easily. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Same driver for most legs, punctual, comfortable vehicle, no random handoffs mid-trip. Transfers between states were pre-planned and the coordinator shared timing details a day before each leg. No confusion, no waiting around with luggage. We spoke maybe three times on call before booking and everything discussed was actually delivered. That part still surprises me.
Our North-East Coordinator Replied at Every Hour
We were four friends traveling to North-East for the first time, and honestly none of us had any clue about how things work in that region — permits, connectivity, the whole thing. The coordinator TourGrids assigned us, Deepak, was available on WhatsApp practically round the clock. Every small doubt got answered before it became a problem. One evening our cab was running late and he sorted it on call within minutes, no drama. Hotels were proper good — nothing felt like a downgrade. The itinerary covered Meghalaya and Sikkim without feeling rushed. No hidden charges popped up at the end either, which was a relief. Genuinely felt like someone was looking out for us the entire trip.
North-East Itinerary Built Around Our Pace
We had been going back and forth on the North-East for months, unsure where to start. A friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked the right questions — how many days, whether we wanted offbeat places, our budget — and came back with an itinerary that actually made sense for a couple like us. We tweaked a couple of things over WhatsApp and they adjusted without any fuss. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time throughout, and there were no surprise charges at the end. The coordinator was reachable the whole time. Planning something this detailed on our own would have taken weeks.
North-East on a Budget, Zero Compromises
I had priced out a North-East trip on my own last year and it was getting complicated fast — different vendors for cabs, hotels scattered across booking sites, no one to call if something went wrong. TourGrids bundled everything into one package and it actually came out cheaper. Traveled with my husband for 8 days covering Meghalaya and Sikkim. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, nothing felt like a budget compromise. Meals, cabs, even the permits were sorted. Our coordinator was reachable on WhatsApp throughout and there were no surprise charges at the end. What you see in the quote is what you pay — that alone made it worth it.
North-East Cabs and Stays Both Impressed Us
We did a North-East trip as a couple — Meghalaya, Kaziranga, and Majuli — and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were proper good. Not just decent, but actually well-located with clean rooms and good breakfast. I was a little skeptical before booking because we had specific preferences, but the coordinator noted everything down on our WhatsApp call and got it right. The cab transfers between destinations were the part I was most worried about, given those roads, but the drivers were punctual and the vehicles were comfortable. No last-minute confusion, no being dropped at the wrong property. Everything was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be.
