Arrival in Shillong — Settling into the Boutique Stay
Arrive at Shillong (via Guwahati/Guwahati Airport or Byrnihat) and transfer to your curated boutique hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure to recover from travel. In the evening enjoy a relaxed walk around Police Bazar and a welcome dinner featuring local Khasi cuisine. Tip: Keep the first day slow for families and seniors; acclimatize and hydrate.
Shillong Local Excursions — Culture & Panoramic Views
Private morning city tour covering Ward's Lake, Shillong Peak and the Don Bosco Museum (excellent for families). After lunch explore local cafes and craft stores. Late afternoon visit Elephant Falls en route to your hotel. Children-friendly stops and short walks planned; all transfers by private vehicle.
Cherrapunji (Sohra) — Waterfalls & Living Landscapes
Drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra) — one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit iconic viewpoints and waterfalls including Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and Arwah Cave. Optional short walks to panoramic viewpoints. Overnight in a comfortable countryside resort or heritage bungalow. Note: Weather can be misty — carry light rain gear.
Mawlynnong & Dawki — Asia's Cleanest Village & Crystal-clear River
After breakfast head to Mawlynnong, the famous clean village. Explore the living root bridge replica, local bamboo walkways and viewpoints. Continue to Dawki for a private boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River, with spectacular photo opportunities. Return to a comfortable riverside or village-style guesthouse. Family-friendly boating — life jackets provided.
Optional Nongriat / Mawphlang — Nature Walks & Sacred Forest
Choose between: (A) an optional gentle trek to Nongriat (Double Decker Living Root Bridge) — suitable for active families with older children (early start required), or (B) a relaxed morning at Mawphlang Sacred Forest with a guided nature and culture walk. Afternoon return to Shillong for a boutique stay with time for shopping or a spa. Pre-book the Nongriat trek; it involves steps and uneven terrain.
Departure — Final Transfer and Farewell
After breakfast check out from your hotel. Depending on your flight/train schedule, you may have time for a last stroll or a short visit to a local attraction. Private transfer to Guwahati Airport or the designated drop-off point. Tip: We recommend booking an afternoon flight to allow a relaxed morning in Shillong.
