Itinerary
Arrival and Relax in Guwahati
Arrive at Guwahati (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport). Meet your private driver and transfer to a luxury hotel. Depending on arrival time, visit the iconic Kamakhya Temple (optional) and enjoy a private Brahmaputra sunset cruise with refreshments. Evening at leisure — enjoy a curated Assamese cultural dinner (optional). Rest well for the wildlife leg of the tour.
Drive to Kaziranga — Evening Nature Walk
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 4-5 hours) through scenic tea gardens and riverine plains. Check into a luxury wildlife resort. In the evening, enjoy a guided nature walk around the resort area and an introductory talk by a naturalist about Kaziranga’s flora and fauna. Early start recommended next day for safaris.
Kaziranga: Elephant Safari and Jeep Safari
Begin with an early morning elephant (mohout-led) safari into the central grasslands — an extraordinary, family-friendly way to spot the Indian one-horned rhinoceros at close quarters. Return for a relaxed breakfast. After lunch, take a jeep safari covering different ranges of the park (Western/Eastern) to seek wild elephants, swamp deer, and birdlife. Transfer to Shillong — Local Highlights
After breakfast, drive to Shillong (approx. 5-6 hours). En route, enjoy panoramic views of Meghalaya’s rolling hills. Arrive and check into a premium Shillong hotel. Short transfer to Cherrapunji (Sohra) — famed for its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and viewpoints offering sweeping valley panoramas. Mawlynnong & Dawki — Asia’s Cleanest Village and Crystal River
Full-day excursion to Mawlynnong (Asia’s cleanest village) — stroll through the pristine village, meet locals, and visit the living root bridges in nearby villages (short guided trek for the adventurous). Continue to Dawki for a serene boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River and spectacular borderland views. Return to Shillong for overnight. Carry comfortable footwear and light rain gear in monsoon months.
Return to Guwahati and Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati (approx. 3-4 hours) for your onward flight. Time permitting, stop at the Umananda Temple or the Assam State Zoo & Botanical Garden.
