Arrival & Transfer to Corbett — Orientation and Introductory Birding
Arrival at Delhi (or Pantnagar) and drive to Ramnagar / Corbett. Check-in and relax. Evening introductory session with the naturalist-photographer covering itinerary, camera settings for wildlife, and safety briefing. Short guided walk along forest-edge trails for birding and light photography.
Travel time: ~5-6 hours from Delhi; allow buffer for traffic.
Early Safari (Zone Choice) — Photography Session & Village Walk
Pre-dawn departure for an early jeep/canter safari in one of Corbett's active zones (e.g., Bijrani or Buffer Zones) focused on mammal and bird photography. Post-safari critique session and lunch. Late afternoon village walk and community interaction to photograph rural life and local birds.
Pack a long lens (300mm+) and a spare battery. Dusk offers great golden light for portraits.
Full-Day Dhikala (or Selected Core Zone) Safari — Big Cat & Wildlife Intensive
Full-day Dhikala / core zone safari (if permitted) — deep-forest photography day with prime routes for spotting herbivores and predators, riverside ambush points, and scenic backdrops. Midday rest in a designated picnic area; packed lunch provided. Evening post-safari review with image-sharing and feedback from guides.
Full-day safaris offer best chances for tiger, leopard, elephant, and large herbivore sightings. Carry sun protection and light snacks.
Morning Birding Trail & Photography Workshop — Zone Safari (Afternoon)
Early morning focused birding and low-light photography around grasslands and wetlands — target species include Indian pitta, crested serpent eagle, and woodpeckers. After a midday rest, optional afternoon Jim Corbett National Park safari for mammals or a second photography workshop emphasizing composition and motion-freezing techniques.
Ideal for hybrid shooters and DSLR users to practice AF tracking and burst modes.
Transfer to Nainital / Pangot — Sunset over Naini Lake
After breakfast, drive to Nainital / Pangot (approx 2–3 hours). Check-in and short rest. Evening stroll to Naini Lake for sunset frames and urban birding (waterfowl and passerines). Pre-dinner talk on high-altitude bird identification and ethics for bird photographers.
Pangot offers quick access to mixed oak and rhododendron forests — pack a light daypack for short treks.
Full Day Pangot/China Peak Birding — Himalayan Specialties
Full-day birding and photography around Pangot, China Peak, and Kilbury. Target Himalayan species: Chestnut-bellied rock thrush, lammergeier (if season permits), rufous-bellied thrushes, laughingthrushes, and various flycatchers. Includes guided pre-dawn hikes to viewpoints and mid-morning stakeouts for territorial songbirds.
Layer clothing for cool mornings and warmer afternoons; bring a field guide and binoculars in addition to your camera.
Morning Birding & Departure — Drive Back to Delhi / Onward Transfer
Early morning short birding walk for any missed species and final photo session. Return to the hotel for breakfast, check-out, and drive back to Delhi or Pantnagar for onward connections. En route, stop at vantage points for last-minute landscape or bird frames.

Uttarakhand Cost Less Than My Own Shortlist
I had already spent two weekends trying to piece together this Uttarakhand trip myself — comparing hotels in Rishikesh and Mussoorie, chasing cab quotes, reading through confusing meal inclusion fine print. Then a colleague mentioned TourGrids. One call with their team and things started making sense. The package they put together came in noticeably cheaper than what I had shortlisted on my own, and it actually included more — hotel stays, intercity transfers, and breakfast daily. My wife and I were both a little skeptical at first, but there were no hidden charges when we finally paid. Hotels were proper good, cabs showed up on time, and the coordinator was reachable whenever we needed anything. Genuinely did not expect this level of coverage at that price.
Uttarakhand Package That Beat My Own Quotes
I spent two weeks trying to price out Uttarakhand independently — hotels in Rishikesh and Chopta, cabs, the whole thing. The numbers were not adding up. A colleague suggested TourGrids, and honestly, within two calls they had a full itinerary ready for me and my wife. What got me was how transparent the pricing was — no hidden charges, no vague 'subject to availability' talk. Hotels were proper good, both properties were clean and well-located. Cab driver was punctual throughout. Meals were included at the right stops. Their coordinator stayed reachable on WhatsApp for the entire trip. Comparing what we paid versus what I was quoting myself, TourGrids genuinely came out cheaper and far less stressful to plan.
WhatsApp Reply Came Before I Finished Worrying
We were a group of two couples heading to Uttarakhand for the first time, and honestly I was nervous about handing over all the planning to someone else. But the coordinator TourGrids assigned — I think her name was Priya — was genuinely on top of everything. Every time I had a doubt, even small things like which route the cab would take or whether the hotel had geyser facilities, she replied on WhatsApp within minutes. One evening the cab driver got confused about the drop point and she sorted it on a three-way call in under ten minutes. No panic, no excuses. Hotels were proper good too, no unpleasant surprises at check-in. Really glad we went with them.
Our Uttarakhand Coordinator Picked Up Every Single Time
We were a couple traveling to Uttarakhand for the first time and honestly had no idea where to even begin. A friend suggested TourGrids and after two WhatsApp conversations with our coordinator Deepak, everything just fell into place. What I appreciated most was that he was reachable — not just before booking, but during the trip too. Our cab got delayed near Rishikesh and he sorted it on call within twenty minutes, no drama. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt like a last-minute compromise. Billing was transparent, no hidden charges anywhere. Deepak felt less like a company contact and more like someone who actually had a stake in how our trip went.
Uttarakhand Itinerary Built Over Two Honest Calls
We had a rough idea of Uttarakhand in mind — Rishikesh, Mussoorie, maybe Chopta — but no clue how to stitch it together for four days. Called TourGrids, spoke to someone who actually listened instead of just pitching a fixed package. They asked about our pace, whether my wife and I prefer scenic drives or rushing through spots, and built the itinerary around that. WhatsApp follow-ups were quick, no chasing required. Hotels were proper good for the price — nothing felt random. Costs were shared upfront, no surprises at checkout. The whole planning side felt like someone else's problem in the best way possible.
Uttarakhand Felt Easy With a Real Person Behind It
We almost cancelled this trip because my husband and I couldn't agree on the itinerary — Rishikesh or Chopta, hill hotels or riverside stays. Our coordinator at TourGrids just listened to both sides on a call and came back with something that actually worked for us. After that, he was on WhatsApp pretty much the whole trip. When our cab was delayed near Devprayag, he had the driver's number to us within minutes and followed up himself. Hotels were proper good — not oversold at all. No surprise charges at checkout either, which honestly surprised me. The whole Uttarakhand trip felt like someone was quietly watching over it.
