Itinerary
Arrival in Srinagar & Relaxing Shikara Ride
Arrive at Srinagar Airport and transfer to your hotel or traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. After check-in, enjoy a guided shikara ride through floating gardens and local markets. Evening briefing with the trek leader and equipment check. Acclimatization and rest are important — avoid heavy activity on arrival.
Drive to Pahalgam — Explore Betaab & Aru Valleys
After breakfast, drive (~2.5–3 hours) to Pahalgam, the adventure base in Lidder Valley. En route stop for photos and short visits to saffron fields and scenic viewpoints. On arrival, visit Betaab Valley and Aru Valley for short walks and panoramic views. Overnight stay in Pahalgam. Ensure water and light snacks for the day’s short hikes.
Acclimatization Hikes & Trek Briefing in Pahalgam
Warm-up day with guided hikes around Aru and nearby high meadows to prepare for the longer trek. Final gear check, meet the trekking crew (local guides and porters), and receive safety instructions. Optional pony/ride arrangements are available for portions of the route. Overnight in Pahalgam.
Trek to High Meadow — Overnight Camping at Tarsar Area
Early start for the trek toward the Tarsar High Meadow region. Trek through pine forests, meandering streams, and alpine pastures. Arrive at a scenic campsite in the high meadow by late afternoon. Camp setup, warm camp dinner, and enjoy stargazing in the clear mountain sky. Overnight camping included with sleeping mats and sleeping bags.
Explore High Meadows & Full-Day Hike
Full day to explore surrounding high meadows, viewpoints overlooking pristine lakes and distant snow-capped peaks. Guided day hikes visit nearby ridgelines and photo points. Return to the campsite for an evening campfire and overnight under the stars. Carry sunscreen and a light daypack for summit viewpoints.
Return Trek to Pahalgam & Relax
Descend back toward Pahalgam after breakfast, crossing scenic valleys and returning along the Lidder River. Arrive in Pahalgam for hot showers, local cuisine, and free time to relax or explore local markets. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
Drive to Srinagar & Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Srinagar with optional stops at historic Mughal Gardens (seasonal) or roadside viewpoints. Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your onward flight. If your flight is later, choose a short evening shikara ride or a stroll through the old city markets.
