Mountain climate: cool summers (10–20°C daytime, colder at night), unpredictable showers in summer, and long, severe winters with heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures.
Accessibility
Tulail Valley is remote. Access routes: from Srinagar via Bandipora and Gurez; the road from Bandipora to Gurez and then to Tulail is long and can be rough — typically a full-day drive from Srinagar. Nearest major airport: Srinagar International Airport (about 150–200 km depending on route). Public transport is limited; hire a private vehicle or join local transport to Bandipora and then onward to Gurez/Tulail with local taxis or shared vehicles. Seasonal road closures and military checkpoints mean travel plans should remain flexible.
Recommended Duration
2–4 days to experience the valley, short treks, and cultural interaction. Longer stays for trekking or camping can be planned in summer months.
