Itinerary
Arrival in Kochi & Fort Kochi Walking Tour
Arrive at Cochin International Airport / rail station and transfer to your hotel in Kochi. After check-in and a brief rest, enjoy a relaxed walking tour of Fort Kochi: the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, and the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace). In the evening, witness a short Kathakali or Kalaripayattu demonstration (time permitting).
Tip: Keep the first day light — ideal for families to adjust to local time and climate.
Drive to Munnar — Scenic Hill Station Arrival
After breakfast, drive to Munnar (approx. 4–5 hours). En route, stop for photos at viewpoints and enjoy the changing landscape as you climb into the Western Ghats. Check in to your hill resort. Afternoon at leisure — families can relax or take a short walk through nearby tea gardens.
Note: Roads are hilly and winding; comfortable travel breaks are scheduled for seniors and kids.
Munnar Local Sightseeing — Tea Gardens & Views
Full day exploring Munnar attractions. Visit the Eravikulam National Park (home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr) — booking subject to park timing and season. Continue to the Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam (boat ride optional), Echo Point, and Top Station for panoramic views.
Family-friendly options: short nature walks and a gentle boat ride at Mattupetty make it easy for children and elders to enjoy.
Munnar to Thekkady — Spice Plantations & Evening Leisure
After breakfast, depart for Thekkady (approx. 3–4 hours). En route, stop at a spice plantation to see and sample native spices — a fun, informative experience for families. Arrive at your hotel near Periyar and relax. Optional evening: attend a cultural performance showcasing Kalaripayattu or local art forms.
Tip: Spice plantation visits are interactive and great for children to learn about cardamom, pepper, and vanilla.
Periyar Wildlife Boat Cruise & Travel to Alleppey
Early morning enjoy a serene Periyar Lake boat cruise in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary — wildlife sightings are possible (elephants, deer, birdlife). After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (approx. 4 hours). Board your traditional Kerala houseboat in the afternoon to begin a leisurely backwater cruise.
Note: Houseboat cabins vary in size; family suites or adjoining rooms can be arranged on request.
Houseboat Disembark & Transfer to Kovalam
Wake up to backwater views, enjoy a fresh breakfast on the houseboat, and disembark mid-morning. Drive to Kovalam / Trivandrum (approx. 4 hours). Check in at your beach resort and spend the evening at Lighthouse Beach or relaxing at the resort.
Tip: Carry swim gear and sun protection; beaches are family-friendly but watch children near the water.
Kovalam Beach Day & Nearby Sightseeing
Full day to enjoy Kovalam. Relax on Hawa Beach, Lighthouse Beach, and Samudra Beach. Optional activities: Ayurvedic spa treatments, a short visit to Vizhinjam Rock Cut Cave Temple, or a sunset boat ride. Evening at leisure.
Family-friendly activity suggestions: shallow-water play at the protected cove near Lighthouse Beach, and gentle beach walks at sunset.
Departure from Trivandrum
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) airport or railway station for your onward journey. If time permits, visit the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple or local markets in Trivandrum before departure.
Tip: Allow 3 hours for airport transfer formalities; plan your flights accordingly.
