Itinerary
Arrival in Srinagar — Welcome to the Kashmir Valley
Arrive at Srinagar Airport / Railway Station and transfer to your traditional houseboat / hotel on Dal Lake. Meet your tour leader and attend a short briefing about the trek routes and safety. Afternoon at leisure: enjoy a serene Shikara ride on Dal Lake, watch floating gardens and local life. Evening transfer back to the houseboat with a welcome dinner featuring local cuisine.
Tip: Keep your bags light for the trek portion; luggage that will not be needed on treks can remain secured in Srinagar.
Srinagar Sightseeing & Preparation
After breakfast, enjoy a gentle sightseeing tour of Old Srinagar: visit the Mughal gardens Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh (weather/time permitting), and a stroll through Lal Chowk. Afternoon orientation with trek guides to review gear, fitness levels, and route adjustments. Prepare trekking permits and final checks.
Important: Ensure you have sturdy trekking shoes, waterproof layers, and any personal medication.
Transfer to Pahalgam — Gateway to Lidder Trails
Drive from Srinagar to Pahalgam (approx. 2.5-3 hours) through scenic valleys. Check into your hotel in Pahalgam and take a short acclimatization walk in the valley, along the Lidder River. Evening briefing by the trekking team about the upcoming multi-day treks and overnight in Pahalgam.
Note: Altitude is moderate but take it easy on arrival to avoid fatigue.
Pahalgam to Aru — Trek & Explore Alpine Meadows
Start a scenic trek from Pahalgam to Aru (approx. 2–4 hours depending on pace). Cross pine forests and open meadows to reach Aru Valley, known for its vast alpine pastures and panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. Set up camp or check into a local guesthouse. Afternoon exploration of Aru's meadows and short acclimatization hikes.
Highlight: Perfect spot for sunset photography and stargazing from camp.
Aru to Lidderwat / Tarsar-Meadow Excursion
Embark on a full-day trek along the Lidder Trail toward scenic high meadows such as Lidderwat or onward towards Tarsar-Marsar region (route chosen based on weather and group fitness). Enjoy riverside trails, wildflowers, and views of glacial streams. Picnic lunch en route; return to Aru in the evening for dinner and overnight at the camp/guesthouse.
Note: This is the most active trekking day — maintain a steady pace and hydrate frequently.
Multi-Day Trek: Deep into Lidder Trails & Local Villages
Continue multi-day trekking exploring less-traveled sections of the Lidder Trails, visiting shepherd hamlets and high pasturelands. Pass through glacial streams, ridge viewpoints, and if conditions allow, reach vantage points for panoramic mountain views. Evening camp under the stars or return to a locally run guesthouse in Aru.
Tip: Carry layered clothing and a small daypack with water, snacks, and a basic first-aid kit.
Return to Pahalgam — Leisure & Local Culture
After breakfast, trek or drive back to Pahalgam for a relaxing day. Spend the afternoon exploring Betaab Valley (optional), stroll along the Lidder River, or enjoy a pony ride. Farewell dinner in Pahalgam with a debrief of the trek and an opportunity to meet local guides.
Special: Optional short visit to nearby Chandanwari or a local Kashmiri cultural demonstration.
Back to Srinagar — Final Shopping & Departure Prep
Drive back to Srinagar after breakfast. Spend remaining time shopping for local handicrafts (Kashmiri shawls, papier-mâché, dried fruits) or relax at the houseboat. Transfer to the airport / railway station for your onward journey home.
Important: Confirm departure timing and ensure all personal gear is packed. If you have an evening flight, enjoy a final Shikara ride on Dal Lake.

Our Kashmir Coordinator Never Left Us Guessing
Traveled to Kashmir with my wife last October and honestly the coordinator TourGrids assigned us — Arjun — was the real difference maker. Before the trip, he was constantly on WhatsApp, answering every small doubt we had about weather, packing, hotel locations. Nothing felt too minor for him to respond to. On the ground, when our Gulmarg cab driver showed up late, one call to Arjun and it was sorted within minutes. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, no surprises. Pricing was transparent from day one, no hidden charges added later. For a Kashmir trip with so many moving parts, having someone that reachable genuinely changed how relaxed we felt throughout.
Kashmir Trip Cost Less Than My Spreadsheet
I spent almost two weeks trying to price out Kashmir independently — hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg cabs, Pahalgam stays, the whole thing. The numbers kept climbing. A colleague suggested TourGrids, and honestly one call with their team changed the plan entirely. They quoted less than what I had cobbled together myself, and the package included hotel breakfasts, all intercity transfers, and airport pickup. My wife and I did six nights, and nothing felt cut-rate — the houseboats and hotels were proper good. No hidden charges at checkout, no surprise additions. Our coordinator was reachable throughout on WhatsApp and sorted a cab timing change without any fuss. Would not have gotten this value going alone.
Kashmir Hotels Were a Cut Above Expected
We went to Kashmir as a couple last October and honestly the properties TourGrids arranged were the best part of the whole trip. The houseboat in Dal Lake was proper good — clean, well-maintained, and exactly what was shown in the photos. No surprises. Same with the hotel in Gulmarg. Cabs were always on time, drivers knew the routes well, and there was zero confusion at any transfer point. Our coordinator Priya stayed reachable throughout — sorted a small room preference issue on a quick call before we even reached the property. Pricing was clear from the beginning, no hidden charges added later. We were a little nervous handing over the entire planning, but it worked out well.
Kashmir Package Cheaper Than Booking It Myself
I spent two weeks trying to plan Kashmir for my husband and me — comparing hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, checking cab rates, calculating everything. Then I spoke to TourGrids and their quote came in lower than what I had already shortlisted on my own. Same category hotels, airport transfers, all meals on houseboat days, and a dedicated coordinator on WhatsApp throughout. No hidden charges at checkout, which I was honestly expecting. The hotels were proper good — nothing felt like a budget downgrade. What actually surprised me was how quickly everything got confirmed — two calls and the itinerary was ready. Booking independently felt pointless after this.
Kashmir Felt Safe in Someone Else's Hands
Honestly, I was nervous about handing over the entire trip to a company I had never used before. My wife and I had always planned things ourselves, but Kashmir felt too important to get wrong. A friend suggested TourGrids and after two calls and a few WhatsApp chats, I felt like they actually understood what we wanted — not just a standard package. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time, and every checkpoint on the itinerary was covered without us having to follow up. No surprise charges at the end either, which I was half expecting. The coordinator kept checking in throughout the trip. First time fully trusting someone else with our travel, and it paid off completely.
Kashmir Package Price Beat Every Quote I Found
I spent two weeks trying to plan Kashmir myself — comparing hotels in Srinagar, finding reliable cabs to Gulmarg, checking houseboat rates. Every time I added it up, the number kept climbing. TourGrids quoted me a package for me and my wife that was genuinely lower than what I'd pieced together on my own, and it included everything — flights, houseboat stay, hotel in Pahalgam, all cabs, and most meals. Nothing felt like a compromise. The hotels were proper good, not budget fillers. Coordinator was always reachable on WhatsApp, no chasing required. No hidden charges at checkout either, which honestly surprised me. Sometimes handing it over to someone else just makes sense.
