Arrival at Kathgodam / Drive to Nainital & Leisure Evening
Arrive at Kathgodam Railway Station / Pantnagar Airport and drive (~1.5–2 hrs) to Nainital. Check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll on Nainital Mall Road, visit Naini Lake for a boat ride (optional), and enjoy a family dinner at a lakeside restaurant.
Travel tip: Keep light jackets handy for the cool evening. If arriving late, rest and prepare for the next day's sightseeing.
Nainital Sightseeing & Cable Car to Snow View Point
Start the day after breakfast with a visit to Snow View Point using the cable car for sweeping views of the Himalayas (weather permitting). Continue with Naina Devi Temple, High Altitude Zoo (optional), and Tiffin Top for sunset panoramas. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Important: Cable car timings vary seasonally; plan early to avoid queues.
Leisure Morning in Nainital & Transfer to Ranikhet
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and optional activities (boating or shopping). Post lunch, check out and drive to Ranikhet (~3–4 hrs). On arrival, check in to the hotel and take a short evening walk near the hotel to enjoy the tranquil Himalayan foothills.
Note: Roads are scenic but winding; expect moderate travel time with photo stops.
Ranikhet Sightseeing & Chaubatia Gardens
After breakfast, explore Ranikhet highlights: Chaubatia Gardens (famous for orchards of apples, apricots and peaches), Jhula Devi Temple, and breathtaking viewpoints offering vistas of snow-capped peaks. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure and a family-friendly cultural walk in the evening.
Highlight: Chaubatia is perfect for light family treks and picnic photography.
Ranikhet to Almora via Katarmal Sun Temple & Market Walk
Depart Ranikhet after breakfast and drive to Almora (~1.5–2 hrs). En route, stop at the ancient Katarmal Sun Temple (if open) — a hidden archaeological gem. Arrive in Almora, check in, then explore the winding Almora bazaar, sample local cuisine, and visit viewpoints offering sunset views over the valley.
Tip: Almora's market has handicrafts ideal for souvenirs. Carry small change for local purchases.
Almora Sightseeing, Kasar Devi Temple & Cultural Walk
Start with a visit to Kasar Devi Temple — renowned for its spiritual aura and Himalayan vistas. Continue to Bright End Corner (sunrise/sunset viewpoint), local crafts workshops, and a cultural walk through Almora's heritage lanes. Evening at leisure at the hotel.
Note: Kasar Devi involves a short walk uphill; wear comfortable shoes.
Day Excursion to Binsar OR Relax & Transfer to Kausani
Choose between a day excursion to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary (great for birdwatching and Himalayan views) or a relaxed morning in Almora followed by a drive to Kausani (~2–3 hrs). On arrival in Kausani, check in, then enjoy the serene surroundings and an early evening walk to view the sunset over the Himalayan peaks.

Kausani Sunrise View & Departure
Wake up early to witness the iconic Kausani sunrise with panoramic views of Trisul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli ranges. After breakfast, check out and begin your drive back to Kathgodam / Pantnagar for onward rail/flight connections. En route transfer timings will depend on your departure schedule.
