Itinerary

Day1

Arrival, Settling In & Evening Bazaar Walk

Arrive at Jaipur (Sanganer/Sindhi Airport or by rail). Private transfer to a family-friendly heritage hotel or homestay. Afternoon at leisure to relax after travel. Evening guided walk through Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar to experience local crafts and street snacks — a great taste of the old bazaars shopping (Johari, Bapu, Tripolia) experience. Tip: Carry a light daypack and water; bazaars are best explored late afternoon when it's slightly cooler.

Day2

Heritage Walk, Block-Print Workshop & Family Cooking Class

Start with a guided heritage walk in Pink City covering Hawa Mahal (exterior), City Palace courtyard, and the bustling lanes. Afternoon, participate in a hands-on block-printing workshop where families design and print a cotton bag or scarf to take home. Late afternoon family-friendly Rajasthani cooking class at the homestay/hotel: learn to make dal-baati-churma and chutneys. This day balances sightseeing with creative, family-oriented learning.

Day3

Drive to Bundi — Painted Havelis & Artisan Visits

Short scenic drive to Bundi (approx. 3–4 hours). Check in to a charming haveli-homestay. Explore the town's famed painted havelis, stepwells (baoris), and quiet lanes — don't miss the stepwell trail (Raniji ki Baori and others). Visit local artisans: miniature painters and block printers in their workshops for intimate demonstrations and child-friendly activities.

Note: Bundi is peaceful and very walkable — ideal for families who enjoy slow-paced discovery.

Day4

Bundi Morning Markets & Transfer to Jodhpur

Morning market visit to see fresh produce, spices, and local snacks. After an early lunch, depart for Jodhpur (approx. 4–5 hours). Evening arrival and check-in at a comfortable family homestay or heritage hotel. Relax with a rooftop view of the city's skyline.

Travel tip: Keep snacks and entertainment for kids during scenic drives; there are photo stops en route.

Day5

Mehrangarh Fort, Blue City Walk & Pottery Workshop

Morning visit to the imposing Mehrangarh Fort with a child-friendly storytelling tour highlighting legends and architecture. Descend into the Old City (Blue Quarter) for a Blue City old town photography walk through lanes, local shops, and spice stalls. Afternoon hands-on pottery or clay modelling workshop arranged with local artisans — suitable for all ages.

Highlight: Sunset views from the fort are spectacular and great for family photos.

Day6

Village Homestay Experience near Jodhpur — Folk Music & Village Walk

Short drive to a nearby village for a curated homestay experience. Participate in a family-friendly village walk: meet local families, learn about daily life, visit a farm or livestock area as part of a Bishnoi village safari, and enjoy an evening of folk music and dance. Traditional home-cooked Rajasthani dinner served.

This homestay emphasizes community tourism and respectful cultural exchange.

Day7

Drive to Udaipur — Lakeside Arrival & Miniature Painting Intro

Drive to Udaipur (approx. 5 hours) with scenic stops en route. Arrive and check in to a lakeside homestay or boutique hotel. Late afternoon introduction to Rajasthani miniature painting with a short demo and a simple project for family members to try.

Udaipur's relaxed lakefront ambience is perfect for winding down the trip.

Day8

Boat Ride, City Palace Visit & Farewell Dinner

Leisurely morning sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola to enjoy panoramic views of the City Palace and Jag Mandir. Guided visit to City Palace Museum with kid-friendly storytelling. Afternoon at leisure for souvenir shopping or extra activities (optional spa or puppet-show visit). Conclude with a special farewell family dinner featuring regional delicacies and a short cultural performance.

Departure transfers can be arranged to Udaipur airport/railway station. If continuing travel, we can recommend extensions or slower departures.

Our Rajasthan Coordinator Replied Before I Could Stress

Booked a Rajasthan trip with my wife through TourGrids and honestly, the coordinator they assigned us — Priya — was the real difference. Before the trip, she was always available on WhatsApp, never left us on read, and when I had last-minute confusion about the Jaisalmer hotel, she sorted it on call within ten minutes. On ground, when our cab to Jodhpur was running late, she tracked it herself and kept updating us without us having to follow up. Itinerary was well-paced, no hidden charges came up at checkout, and the hotels were proper good for the price we paid. Felt like someone was actually looking out for us the whole time.

Rajasthan Hotels Were a Genuine Step Up

We were honestly not expecting the kind of properties TourGrids put us in — my husband and I have done Rajasthan before on our own, and the difference was clear from the first night in Jaipur itself. The heritage hotel they booked had this whole courtyard setup, proper good vibes, nothing like those mid-range places we usually end up with. Udaipur and Jaisalmer stays were equally well chosen. And the cabs — always on time, clean cars, drivers who actually knew the routes. No waiting around, no last-minute confusion. Our coordinator had everything lined up before we even landed. Genuinely one of the better-planned trips we have taken as a couple.
