Itinerary
Arrival, Road Transfer to Ziro & Evening Walk
Arrive at Guwahati / Dimapur (arrival point) and begin your scenic road transfer to Ziro Valley. The journey passes through rolling hills, rivers and small tribal towns — a good introduction to the region. On arrival, check into your guesthouse or eco-lodge. Spend the evening strolling around Hapoli market and the paddy terraces, absorbing local rhythms. Tip: Keep your camera ready—Ziro sunsets over rice terraces are spectacular.
Apatani Village Tour & Cultural Immersion
Full day exploring the living heritage of the Apatani tribe. Visit traditional villages such as Hong and Hapoli, meet local families, and learn about age-old agricultural practices and unique facial tattooing history (now rare). Experience local crafts, tribal cuisine and village walkways through rice fields. In the late afternoon, visit a scenic viewpoint for valley panoramas and sunset photography. Note: Be respectful when photographing people—ask before taking close-up photos.
Transfer to Kohima — Kohima Highlights & Prep for Trek
Early departure for Kohima, the gateway to the Dzukou Valley. This is a longer drive through mountainous roads with spectacular views. On arrival in Kohima, visit the Kohima War Cemetery and stroll through local markets to sample regional snacks and pick up last-minute trekking supplies. Overnight in Kohima to rest and prepare for the Dzukou trek. Tip: Keep water and light snacks handy during the drive.
Dzukou Valley Trek, Explore & Camp under Stars
Early start from Kohima to the Dzukou trailhead (e.g., Viswema / Jakhama approach depending on permit and route). Begin the trek into the Dzukou Valley—a 6–8 km moderate trek through ridge trails, rhododendron trees and seasonal blooms. Reach the valley by midday, set up hillside camping and explore the valley meadows, streams and panoramic viewpoints. Enjoy sunset from the camp ridge and an evening around a campfire. Important: Weather in the valley can change quickly—carry warm layers and waterproofs.
Sunrise in Dzukou, Trek Out & Departure
Witness a tranquil sunrise in Dzukou Valley, then pack camp and trek back to the trailhead. After the descent, transfer to Kohima or onward transport hub for drop-off (Imphal/Dimapur/Guwahati as per your onward plans). Conclude your North-East Adventure package with memories of tribal life, valley vistas and a rewarding trek. Note: If you have a late departure, request extended transfer or an additional night in Kohima to avoid rush.

North-East Itinerary Built Around Our Pace
We had been going back and forth on the North-East for months, unsure where to start. A friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked the right questions — how many days, whether we wanted offbeat places, our budget — and came back with an itinerary that actually made sense for a couple like us. We tweaked a couple of things over WhatsApp and they adjusted without any fuss. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time throughout, and there were no surprise charges at the end. The coordinator was reachable the whole time. Planning something this detailed on our own would have taken weeks.
North-East on a Budget, Zero Compromises
I had priced out a North-East trip on my own last year and it was getting complicated fast — different vendors for cabs, hotels scattered across booking sites, no one to call if something went wrong. TourGrids bundled everything into one package and it actually came out cheaper. Traveled with my husband for 8 days covering Meghalaya and Sikkim. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, nothing felt like a budget compromise. Meals, cabs, even the permits were sorted. Our coordinator was reachable on WhatsApp throughout and there were no surprise charges at the end. What you see in the quote is what you pay — that alone made it worth it.
North-East Cabs and Stays Both Impressed Us
We did a North-East trip as a couple — Meghalaya, Kaziranga, and Majuli — and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were proper good. Not just decent, but actually well-located with clean rooms and good breakfast. I was a little skeptical before booking because we had specific preferences, but the coordinator noted everything down on our WhatsApp call and got it right. The cab transfers between destinations were the part I was most worried about, given those roads, but the drivers were punctual and the vehicles were comfortable. No last-minute confusion, no being dropped at the wrong property. Everything was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be.
