Itinerary
Arrival at Guwahati and Drive to Ziro (Transit Day)
Arrive at Guwahati (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport) and meet your private driver and guide. Begin the scenic drive to Ziro Valley (approx. 8–10 hours depending on road conditions). Pause en route for refreshments and short photo stops. On arrival in Ziro, check into your valley stay or homestay and enjoy a relaxed evening.
Important tip: If you prefer, you can opt for a short flight to North Lakhimpur (seasonal) to shorten road time; ask us about flight connections when booking.
Apatani Village Immersion & Local Crafts
Spend the day exploring the Apatani tribal villages—Hija and Hari—with a local guide. Witness traditional wet rice cultivation, terraced paddy fields, and the unique Apatani cultural landscape. Visit village craft demonstrations (bamboo weaving, handloom) and a community interaction session where elders share stories and customs.
In the evening, attend a curated homestay cultural evening featuring local musicians and folk singers. This is a highlight of the North-East Family Retreat package: intimate performances in a valley setting. Learn more about Northeast India Cultural Etiquette before your visit.
Talley Valley Excursion & Scenic Viewpoints
Drive to Talley Valley for a day of nature walking in one of Arunachal's most verdant landscapes. Enjoy short guided trails through rhododendron and oak forests, picnic at a scenic spot, and visit lookout points for panoramic valley views. Return to Ziro for a relaxed evening and optional second performance by local artists.
Note: Trails are family-friendly but carry comfortable footwear and light rain protection.
Homestay Living & Cultural Workshops
Today is focused on hands-on cultural experiences: participate in a woven craft workshop, try local Apatani cuisine cooking demos, and learn traditional songs or simple musical rhythms from village performers. Enjoy lengthy conversations with host families and capture sunset views over the valley.
Evening: a final curated cultural performance—dance, folk singing and storytelling—designed especially for families. Explore our things to do in North-East guide for more inspiration.
Return to Guwahati / Departure
After breakfast, check out and begin the return drive to Guwahati. En route, stop at scenic points for photos and a mid-way lunch. Arrive in Guwahati in the afternoon or evening depending on timings. Transfer to the airport or railway station for onward travel.
If you have extra time, consider a short stop in Itanagar (at an additional cost) to visit local museums and craft centers.

Every Hotel in North-East Was a Surprise
We had low expectations from the accommodations honestly, because North-East trips can be hit or miss with properties. But whatever TourGrids picked for us — from Gangtok to Tawang — every hotel was proper good. Clean rooms, decent views, breakfast included, no last-minute downgrades. My wife was genuinely impressed, which doesn't happen easily. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Same driver for most legs, punctual, comfortable vehicle, no random handoffs mid-trip. Transfers between states were pre-planned and the coordinator shared timing details a day before each leg. No confusion, no waiting around with luggage. We spoke maybe three times on call before booking and everything discussed was actually delivered. That part still surprises me.
Our North-East Coordinator Replied at Every Hour
We were four friends traveling to North-East for the first time, and honestly none of us had any clue about how things work in that region — permits, connectivity, the whole thing. The coordinator TourGrids assigned us, Deepak, was available on WhatsApp practically round the clock. Every small doubt got answered before it became a problem. One evening our cab was running late and he sorted it on call within minutes, no drama. Hotels were proper good — nothing felt like a downgrade. The itinerary covered Meghalaya and Sikkim without feeling rushed. No hidden charges popped up at the end either, which was a relief. Genuinely felt like someone was looking out for us the entire trip.
North-East Itinerary Built Around Our Pace
We had been going back and forth on the North-East for months, unsure where to start. A friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked the right questions — how many days, whether we wanted offbeat places, our budget — and came back with an itinerary that actually made sense for a couple like us. We tweaked a couple of things over WhatsApp and they adjusted without any fuss. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time throughout, and there were no surprise charges at the end. The coordinator was reachable the whole time. Planning something this detailed on our own would have taken weeks.
North-East on a Budget, Zero Compromises
I had priced out a North-East trip on my own last year and it was getting complicated fast — different vendors for cabs, hotels scattered across booking sites, no one to call if something went wrong. TourGrids bundled everything into one package and it actually came out cheaper. Traveled with my husband for 8 days covering Meghalaya and Sikkim. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, nothing felt like a budget compromise. Meals, cabs, even the permits were sorted. Our coordinator was reachable on WhatsApp throughout and there were no surprise charges at the end. What you see in the quote is what you pay — that alone made it worth it.
North-East Cabs and Stays Both Impressed Us
We did a North-East trip as a couple — Meghalaya, Kaziranga, and Majuli — and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were proper good. Not just decent, but actually well-located with clean rooms and good breakfast. I was a little skeptical before booking because we had specific preferences, but the coordinator noted everything down on our WhatsApp call and got it right. The cab transfers between destinations were the part I was most worried about, given those roads, but the drivers were punctual and the vehicles were comfortable. No last-minute confusion, no being dropped at the wrong property. Everything was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be.
