Arrival in Ahmedabad — Old City Introduction
Arrive at Ahmedabad airport/railway station and meet your representative. Transfer to hotel and freshen up.
Afternoon guided tour of Ahmedabad Old City: walk through historic pols, visit Jama Masjid, explore the lanes, and end at Sabarmati Ashram to learn about Gandhi's legacy.
Evening free for local shopping (textiles & handicrafts). Early arrival recommended to rest well for the Patan leg tomorrow.
Ahmedabad to Patan — Rani ki Vav & Patola Weaving
Drive to Patan (approx. 2 - 2.5 hours). On arrival check into your hotel.
Visit the magnificent Rani ki Vav (Queen's Stepwell) — a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its sculptural panels and stepped architecture. Spend ample time exploring and photographing this unique monument.
Afternoon visit to Patan Patola weaving houses to see the traditional double ikat weaving technique and visit local craft centers.
Evening at leisure in Patan. Wear comfortable shoes for the stepwell site.
Patan to Modhera — Sun Temple & Local Sights
After breakfast, depart for Modhera (approx. 1 hour). Visit the stunning Modhera Sun Temple, admired for its intricate stone carvings and the rectangular Surya Kund (stepped tank).
Explore nearby village temples and the countryside; learn about Solanki-era architecture and the religious significance of the site.
Overnight stay in Modhera area. Sunrise visits to Modhera can be arranged on request for spectacular light on the temple façades.
Heritage Rail Experience & Return to Ahmedabad
Board a curated Heritage Rail experience in the morning — enjoy a vintage coach ride that offers a nostalgic glimpse into Gujarat's railway past (route and timings subject to availability). Coffee/tea served onboard where available.
