Arrival & Ahmedabad City Introduction
Arrive at Ahmedabad. Meet and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon half-day city tour covering Sabarmati Ashram and the intricately carved Adalaj Stepwell. Evening at leisure with optional stroll along the Sabarmati Riverfront.
Tip: If time allows, sample local Gujarati snacks like khaman and fafda in the old city.
Ahmedabad to Bhuj — Gateway to Kutch
Early breakfast and depart for Bhuj (flight/drive options available). On arrival, check in and explore Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal, with a visit to the Kutch Museum to get historical context on the region.
Travel note: Road transfer offers scenic views — allow time for short craft stops en route.
Bhuj to Mandvi — Beach, Palace & Shipbuilding
Drive to Mandvi. Spend the day at Mandvi Beach, visit the romantic Vijay Vilas Palace and observe the traditional shipbuilding yards. Sunset at the beach for photographers and leisure seekers.
Highlight: Mandvi’s calm beaches are a pleasant contrast to the Rann; ideal for relaxation before the desert stay.
Mandvi to Dhordo — Enter the White Rann
Depart early for Dhordo, the gateway to the Great Rann of Kutch. En route visit Kalo Dungar (Black Hill) for sweeping panoramas and the Hodka or nearby artisan villages to learn about Kutchi handicrafts. Arrive at Dhordo in time for the spectacular sunset over the White Rann. Check into your desert tent / camp.
Important: Carry light warm clothing for desert nights; temperatures drop after sunset.
Rann Overnight — Sunset, Stars & Desert Adventure
Full day dedicated to Rann exploration: sunrise over the salt plains, jeep safari and optional ATV rides (subject to availability), guided camel safari at dusk, and immersive visits to local tent-camps and cultural performances. Spend the night in a well-appointed tent setup on the Rann — ideal for star-gazing and photography.
Special note: This is the core night of the Gujarat Adventure package — expect clear skies and minimal light pollution for excellent stargazing.
Return to Ahmedabad — Departure
After morning leisure and a final view of the Rann, depart for Ahmedabad. En route stop for craft shopping at Bhuj if required. Drop at Ahmedabad airport or railway station for onward journey.
Tip: Schedule outbound travel in the evening to avoid rushed transfers; allow buffer time for highway traffic.
