Itinerary
Arrival at Dimapur — Transfer to Kohima and Orientation
Arrive at Dimapur Airport/Railway Station and transfer (~2 hours) to Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Check in and relax. In the afternoon visit the Kohima War Cemetery and the Nagaland State Museum to learn about Naga history and tribal art. Evening orientation meeting with your guide to review trek details and festival schedules.
Tip: Keep walking shoes handy and carry a light daypack for tomorrow's trek.
Kohima Sightseeing & Cultural Immersion
Full day exploring Kohima and nearby cultural sites. Start with the Kisama Heritage Village (Naga Heritage Village) — a curated space showcasing traditional morungs, tribal huts, and performances (subject to festival timings). Visit local craft markets and interact with artisans. Evening free to sample local Naga cuisine such as smoked pork, bamboo shoot dishes and local teas.
Important: If traveling during a major festival, expect larger crowds and an unforgettable cultural showcase.
Transfer to Trek Base — Begin Dzukou Valley Trek
After early breakfast, transfer to the trek base near Viswema/Entry Point. Begin the trek into Dzukou Valley (moderate difficulty; 4–6 hours depending on group pace). Absorb panoramic ridge views, seasonal blooms, and quiet alpine meadows. Reach the valley and set up camp or stay at basic trekking accommodations.
Important: The trek involves narrow ridgelines and variable weather — carry warm layers and waterproofs.
Explore Dzukou Valley — Return to Base & Village Transfer
Spend a full morning exploring the Dzukou Valley: sunrise viewpoints, valley walks, photo stops at Dzukou Lily patches (seasonal), and gentle ridge walks. After lunch, trek back to the trailhead and transfer to a nearby Naga village for an authentic homestay experience. Evening cultural exchange with local families, craft demonstrations, and traditional songs.
Tip: Respect local customs; always ask before photographing people and morungs.
Village Culture Day — Return to Dimapur
Participate in village activities: morning markets, handicraft workshops, morung visits and sample traditional cooking. Midday transfer to Dimapur. En route or in the evening, optional visit to Dimapur Market or local temples and leisure time.
Note: Homestay conditions are basic but rich in cultural value.
Departure from Dimapur — End of Tour
After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Dimapur Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey. Depending on departure time, options include a short visit to local ruins or a final market stop.
Tip: Confirm airport/rail timings with your travel consultant at least 24 hours in advance.

Cab Cancelled in Meghalaya, Back on Track Fast
Our cab didn't show up on day three in Meghalaya — my husband and I were just standing outside the hotel with our bags, not knowing what to do. I messaged the coordinator on WhatsApp and within 20 minutes he had another cab arranged. No drama, no extra charge, just sorted. That one moment told me everything about how TourGrids actually works. The rest of the North-East trip was honestly beautiful — the hotels were proper good, the itinerary had enough breathing room, and nothing felt rushed. Before booking I had a long call with the team, and they genuinely listened to what we wanted. No hidden charges either, which I always worry about.
North-East Properties Felt Carefully, Thoughtfully Chosen
We were a couple traveling North-East for the first time and honestly had no idea where to even start with hotels in that region. TourGrids sorted the entire stay — every property was clean, well-located, and genuinely comfortable. In Meghalaya especially, the resort they booked had views I wasn't expecting at that price point. The cab arrangements were equally solid — drivers showed up on time, vehicles were decent, and transfers between states never felt chaotic. Our coordinator shared all details on WhatsApp well in advance so nothing felt last-minute. No surprise charges at checkout either. For a region with tricky logistics, everything moved without us having to chase anyone.
North-East Cabs and Rooms Both Delivered
We did a 9-day North-East trip — me and my wife — covering Meghalaya, Assam, and Sikkim. What stood out was the quality of properties TourGrids picked. Not just decent stays, genuinely good ones — clean rooms, good locations, breakfast included without us asking twice. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Every transfer was on time, drivers knew the routes well, and there was never that anxious wait wondering if the vehicle would show up. Our coordinator Priya sorted everything over WhatsApp before we left Delhi — no last-minute surprises, no hidden charges. After past trips where hotel quality was always a gamble, it felt good to just trust the process and enjoy the place.
Flight Got Cancelled, TourGrids Didn't Skip a Beat
We were already in Guwahati when IndiGo cancelled our onward flight to Dibrugarh — no warning, just a message at 7 AM. I panicked, my husband panicked, but honestly our TourGrids coordinator Ritu was calmer than both of us combined. She called within minutes, checked availability on two alternate routes, and had us rebooked on a different carrier before we'd even finished breakfast. The hotel in Jorhat was also adjusted without any drama. Rest of the North-East trip went exactly as planned — cabs on time, hotels proper good, no hidden charges at checkout. Planning had been easy over WhatsApp, but that one morning showed us what they're actually made of.
North-East Hotels Felt Chosen With Real Care
We were a couple doing North-East for the first time and honestly had no idea what to expect from the hotels in those areas. TourGrids surprised us completely — every property was clean, well-located, and in a couple of places genuinely beautiful. Nothing felt like a random filler booking. The cab transfers were equally solid. Drivers were on time, vehicles were comfortable for the mountain roads, and there was never that anxious moment of waiting and wondering. Our coordinator kept us updated before we even had to ask. Everything was sorted over WhatsApp before we left Delhi — no surprises on ground, no extra charges popping up. Honestly, the stay quality alone made the whole trip feel premium.
One Call Fixed What Could Have Ruined Everything
We were already in Meghalaya when our hotel in Kaziranga suddenly said they had no record of our booking. I called TourGrids in a panic and within 20 minutes, Arjun from their team had confirmed a different property — same quality, same price range, no extra charge from our side. My wife was relieved, honestly more than me. The rest of the North-East trip went without any issue, but that one moment told me everything about how they actually operate. Hotels were proper good throughout, cabs were always on time, and the itinerary had enough flexibility built in. No hidden charges at checkout either. Will be coming back for our next trip.
