Itinerary
Arrival, Transfer to South-East Base & Orientation
Arrive at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and meet your local guide. Transfer to your hotel in Blue Bay / Mahebourg (approx. 20–40 minutes depending on flight). Settle into your accommodation, enjoy a welcome briefing about the wildlife-focused activities, and take a short orientation walk along the coast.
Evening: Relax at the hotel or enjoy an optional sunset walk by Blue Bay Marine Park. If your flight arrives late, your guided activities will be adjusted accordingly.
Ile aux Aigrettes Conservation Island Visit & Blue Bay Marine Experience
Morning boat transfer to Ile aux Aigrettes — a privately managed coral island and conservation reserve. Join a guided conservation walk to learn about the successful reintroduction of endemic species such as the Mauritius pink pigeon, Mauritius kestrel, and endemic plants. The guided walk focuses on restoration ecology and the role of local NGOs.
Afternoon: Return to Blue Bay for a glass-bottom boat or optional snorkeling trip in Blue Bay Marine Park to observe marine biodiversity.
Tip: Wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, and bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
La Vanille Nature Park & Southern Wetlands Conservation
Drive south to La Vanille Nature Park for close encounters with giant Aldabra tortoises, endemic reptiles, and interpretive conservation exhibits. Explore the park's reptile enclosures and learn about breeding programs and habitat preservation.
Late afternoon: Visit nearby wetlands and mangrove areas where possible guided walks highlight local birdlife and amphibians.
Family note: La Vanille is ideal for kids — interactive displays and tortoise feeding are crowd-pleasers.
Black River Gorges National Park — Guided Birdwatching & Chamarel
Today is dedicated to the iconic Black River Gorges National Park. Accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide, take a moderate hike on forest trails searching for endemic birds such as the Mauritius kestrel, pink pigeon, and echo parakeet. Learn about reforestation and predator control efforts that have revived native populations.
Afternoon: Continue to Chamarel to visit the Seven Coloured Earth and Chamarel Waterfall, with panoramic viewpoints and photo opportunities.
Important: Forest trails can be uneven; wear sturdy shoes and carry a light rain jacket during the wet season.
Bois Cheri Tea Factory, Vallee de Ferney Reserve & Transfer North
Check out after breakfast and head to Bois Cheri Tea Factory & Museum for a guided tour of the plantations, tea tasting, and scenic viewpoints over rolling tea fields.
Next stop: Vallée de Ferney (or similar private reserve) — a conservation area focused on native flora and island restoration, offering short guided walks and further birdwatching opportunities.
Late afternoon: Transfer north to Grand Baie for your final two nights. Evening at leisure to explore local restaurants and beaches.
Tip: Carry binoculars and a camera — roadside stops often provide unexpected wildlife sightings.
Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, Casela or Optional Market Visit & Departure
Morning transfer to Pamplemousses (SSR) Botanical Garden — a must-see for plant lovers with giant water lilies, historical palms, and introduced/endemic collections. Continue to Casela Nature & Leisure Park (optional) for additional bird encounters and conservation talks, or enjoy a relaxed morning at the northern beaches and local craft markets in Grand Baie.
Late morning/early afternoon: Return transfer to the airport for your onward flight. If you have a late flight, enjoy additional beach time or optional activities (snorkeling, coastal walks).
Departure note: Airport transfer time from Grand Baie is approx. 1–1.5 hours depending on traffic; plan accordingly.

Mauritius Itinerary Shaped Around Two People's Requests
We had a rough idea of what we wanted for our honeymoon in Mauritius — a beach day, some water activities, a nice hotel, nothing too packed. Got on a call with the TourGrids team and they just listened, asked a few questions, and came back with an itinerary that actually made sense for us. No generic day-by-day schedule with fifteen stops. They adjusted the hotel after I mentioned we wanted something quieter, sorted the catamaran cruise timing around our flight, and kept me updated on WhatsApp through the whole booking process. No surprise charges at the end either — everything was clear upfront. Wife and I just had to show up.
Coordinator Was Present When It Actually Mattered
We had a hotel check-in issue on day two in Mauritius — the room category wasn't what was booked. My husband was already frustrated after a long flight, and honestly I wasn't far behind. I messaged our coordinator Deepak on WhatsApp and he was back to me in maybe four minutes. Didn't ask me to wait, didn't give vague answers — he spoke directly to the property and had it sorted within the hour. Rest of the trip went without any problems. Cabs were on time, itinerary had good variety for a couple trip, no surprise charges at the end. Deepak just kept things moving without making it feel like we were chasing anyone.
Water Villa Upgrade Happened Because They Pushed
We were originally booked into a garden-view room in Mauritius, which was fine on paper — but two days before departure, our coordinator Riya called to say the property had a last-minute availability in a water villa and she'd negotiated it within our budget. My husband and I almost didn't believe it until we actually checked in. That room was the highlight of the entire trip. Beyond that, one of our excursions got cancelled due to weather and she had an alternative lined up within the hour. No scrambling on our end, no extra charges thrown at us later. The whole Mauritius trip felt like someone was genuinely watching over it, not just processing a booking.
Mauritius Package That Beat Every Quote I Found
I spent two weeks trying to build this Mauritius trip myself — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forum threads. Gave up and called TourGrids. Within one conversation they put together a package for my wife and me that came in cheaper than anything I'd pieced together, and it included more. Beachside hotel, airport transfers, a catamaran day trip, and most meals covered. No hidden charges when we got there, which I was honestly half-expecting. The coordinator was reachable throughout — not just before booking but during the trip too. What we got for the price, I genuinely could not have matched booking everything separately.
Someone Was Reachable Every Hour We Needed
We were a couple on our first international trip and honestly had no idea what to expect from Mauritius. TourGrids assigned us a coordinator named Vikas, and that man was on WhatsApp every single time we pinged him — even when we messaged late at night with silly questions about the itinerary. One afternoon our cab didn't show up for a beach transfer and within fifteen minutes Vikas had another one sorted on call, no drama. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt like a downgrade. The full package pricing was transparent from day one — no hidden charges popping up later. Planning with TourGrids felt like having someone genuinely invested in how our trip went.
Mauritius Came Together Over Three WhatsApp Chats
Honestly did not expect the planning to be this effortless. My wife and I had been putting off booking Mauritius for almost a year because the whole research process felt overwhelming. Got in touch with TourGrids, and within one proper call they had already understood what kind of trip we wanted — not too packed, some beach time, a couple of good hotels. They sent a customised itinerary the next day and adjusted it twice without any fuss. No vague pricing, no hidden charges when the final invoice came. The coordinator stayed reachable through the whole thing. By the time we actually flew out, everything was already sorted in our heads. That peace of mind was the real value.
