Meet and drive east along scenic coastal roads to Arugam Bay (approx. 5–6 hours from Colombo by road). Check in and unwind on the beach. Evening orientation and surf briefing with your local instructor. Tip: Carry sun protection and light snacks for the drive.
Full Day Surf Lessons at Arugam Bay
Begin the day with a surf lesson tailored to your level at Main Point or Whiskey Point. Practice paddling, standing, and catching green waves with certified instructors. Afternoon free to explore the bay, relax at beachfront cafés or rent a board for open-surfing. Evening: sample fresh seafood and local flavors in town. Suitable for beginners and intermediate surfers. For more on the best conditions, see Surf the breaks at Arugam Bay.
Pottuvil Lagoon Safari & Local Exploration
Morning boat trip on Pottuvil Lagoon for birdwatching and mangrove views — great for photography and wildlife spotting. Afternoon visit to the Panama shoreline and the tranquil Kudumbigala Rock Monastery for a short cultural walk. Sunset surf or evening beach stroll. Bring binoculars for birdlife and comfortable walking shoes for the monastery.
Transfer to Pasikudah via Coastal Sights
Check out and enjoy a scenic coastal transfer eastward to Pasikudah Beach (approx. 3–4 hours). En route stop at local fishing villages and photo points. Arrive in Pasikudah, check in and explore the long, shallow bay — perfect for swimming and relaxation. Evening at leisure with beachfront dining. Option: Arrange a sunset boat trip when available.
Snorkeling, Pigeon Island (Optional) and Relaxation
Enjoy a day of beach time in Pasikudah with shallow, calm waters ideal for swimming and learning to snorkel. Optional day trip to Pigeon Island National Park (from Nilaveli/Trincomalee) for snorkeling among vibrant coral and reef fish — arrange in advance. Alternatively, choose a guided coastal walk or a local village visit. Evening: traditional Sri Lankan seafood dinner. Pigeon Island access depends on sea conditions and permits.
Departure: Return to Colombo or Trincomalee Airport
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Colombo (approx. 6–7 hours) or to Trincomalee Airport / Trincomalee harbor for onward connections. En route short stops for refreshments and last-minute photos. End of the 5-night/6-day Sri Lanka Adventure package. We recommend scheduling departure flights after 6 PM from Colombo to account for road travel time; domestic flights can shorten transfer times if preferred.

Recent Sri Lanka Reviews
Sri Lanka Cost Less Than My Own Research
I spent two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forums. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I was piecing together myself. My husband and I got a 6-night trip with decent 4-star hotels, all intercity transfers, breakfast daily, and airport pickups both ways. No hidden charges when we actually paid — the final bill matched what was quoted on WhatsApp. The coordinator was easy to reach and sorted our Kandy to Ella train booking without us even asking. Booking independently felt more flexible in theory, but this was just better in practice.
WhatsApp Replies Came Before I Finished Worrying
My wife and I were planning our first international trip together and honestly had no idea where to start with Sri Lanka. A friend suggested TourGrids, and after a couple of calls and a long WhatsApp chat, we were convinced. They assigned us a coordinator named Rohit who was genuinely on top of everything. Any small doubt — cab timing, hotel check-in, local sim — he'd reply within minutes, even on the day we landed in Colombo. No waiting, no vague answers. Hotels were proper good, itinerary covered Sigiriya and Ella without feeling rushed. Pricing was transparent from the start, no surprise charges at the end. Really glad we went with them.
Sri Lanka Cabs and Hotels Both Delivered
Traveled to Sri Lanka with my wife last month and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were the highlight. Every property was well-located, clean, and a couple of them were proper resort-level — way better than what I'd have found scrolling online myself. The cab transfers between cities were also on point. Driver was always waiting at the right time, no confusion at checkpoints or ferry crossings. I'd spoken to their coordinator a few times on WhatsApp before booking and he understood our budget without us having to repeat ourselves. No surprises on arrival, no last-minute scrambling. For a couple's trip, that kind of reliability really matters.
