Itinerary
Arrival & Bhuj Heritage Walk
Arrive at Bhuj (by road/rail/air) and check into your hotel. Begin with a relaxed heritage walk through Bhuj visiting the Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal (exteriors and museum interiors), and the Kutch Museum. Stroll through the lively bazaars of Bhuj where you can see traditional embroidery, Ajrakh prints and bandhani textiles. Tip: Carry small change for local markets; shops often accept cash.
Artisan Villages & Local Craft Trails
A full day exploring nearby craft villages: visit Bhujodi (weavers), Nakhatrana (block printers) and Hodka / Nirona (metalwork, Rogan painting). Enjoy hands-on demonstrations and an opportunity to purchase authentic handicrafts directly from artisans. Evening at leisure in Bhuj with an optional folk performance.
Transfer to Dhordo & Sunset at the White Rann
Drive from Bhuj to Dhordo, gateway to the Great Rann of Kutch. En route visit Kalo Dungar (Black Hill) for panoramic views and the historic Lachchhi Dham / Dattatreya Temple viewpoint. Check into your dhordo camp or resort. In the evening, witness the spectacular sunset over the White Rann, followed by cultural performances typical of the Rann Utsav (seasonal). Note: Rann Utsav runs November to February — schedule may vary.
Sunrise on the Rann & Desert Activities
Rise early for a breathtaking sunrise on the Great Rann—perfect for photography. Spend the morning on a camel or jeep safari across the salt plains, visit nearby artisan clusters and enjoy hands-on craft experiences at local Kutchi villages. Return to camp for lunch and relax. In the evening enjoy stargazing and local folk music around a bonfire.
Dhordo to Mandvi Coastal Escape
Depart Dhordo and head to the coastal town of Mandvi. Visit the majestic Vijay Vilas Palace, Mandvi Beach, and the traditional ship-building yards where wooden vessels are still crafted. Spend a relaxed evening at the beach, enjoy local seafood (optional) and a sunset walk.
Departure & Optional Extensions
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bhuj or Ahmedabad for onward journey. Optionally extend your Gujarat Family Retreat tour package with a visit to Lothal (Indus Valley site) or return via Bhuj for last-minute shopping. Important: Confirm transfer/drop timing with your operator based on your onward travel.
