Arrival, Transfer to Houseboat & Evening Shikara Ride
Arrive at Srinagar Airport and meet your local representative for transfer to the iconic Dal Lake. Check in to your traditional houseboat or hotel. In the evening enjoy a relaxing Shikara ride across the mirror-like waters — perfect for sunset photography and a gentle intro to Kashmir's charm.
Tip: Keep your camera ready for reflections of the Himalayas and floating gardens.
Srinagar - Mughal Gardens, Old City & Local Markets
After breakfast, explore the classic Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — each offering manicured terraces and historic views over Dal Lake. Visit the Shankaracharya Temple for panoramic city views, then wander the Old City markets (Lal Chowk, Polo View) to shop for Kashmiri shawls, handicrafts, and dry fruits. Evening at leisure on the houseboat.
Note: Mughal Gardens are best enjoyed in the morning or late afternoon when light is soft.
Drive to Gulmarg — Gondola Ride & Meadow Walks
Scenic drive to Gulmarg (approx. 2-3 hours) crossing lush valleys and pine forests. On arrival, take the famous Gulmarg Gondola (Phase 1 and optional Phase 2) to enjoy sweeping views of snow-capped peaks and the Apharwat range. Spend the afternoon exploring the alpine meadows — ideal for photography, pony rides, or beginner-friendly skiing (seasonal). Overnight stay in Gulmarg.
Adventure option: Book gondola Phase 2 for higher-altitude views and snow activities (subject to weather).
Gulmarg Morning Activities, Drive to Sonamarg
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Gulmarg — choose from short hikes, meadow walks, or optional local sightseeing. After lunch, drive to Sonamarg (approx. 3-4 hours) along scenic mountain roads with stops for photos and refreshments. Arrive in Sonamarg in the evening and check in to your hotel.
Tip: Roads between Gulmarg and Sonamarg are scenic but can be winding — carry light motion-sickness remedies if needed.
Sonamarg Excursion — Thajiwas Glacier & River Views, Return to Srinagar
After breakfast, head to Thajiwas Glacier — a short trek or pony ride brings you to beautiful ice fields and alpine streams (seasonal snow). Enjoy riverside walks and optional trout fishing or photo stops. In the afternoon, drive back to Srinagar and spend your final night at the houseboat or hotel, with an optional evening stroll along the lake.
Important: Thajiwas Glacier access depends on weather and season; in heavy snow months, local guidance will determine accessibility.
Departure — Transfer to Airport
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Srinagar Airport for your onward flight. If time allows, enjoy a final short visit to a nearby market for last-minute souvenirs.
Tip: Confirm flight timings and allow extra time for mountain check-in procedures.
