Itinerary

Day1

Arrival, Port Louis Heritage Walk & Temple Orientation

Arrival at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. Transfer to Port Louis. After check-in and short rest, a guided heritage walk through the capital: visit Fort Adelaide (La Citadelle) for panoramic city views, browse the bustling Central Market, stroll the Caudan Waterfront, and visit the historic Kwan Tee Pagoda and Jummah Mosque. Conclude with an orientation on pilgrimage etiquette and an evening cultural briefing with your guide. Easy day to acclimatize.

Day2

North Coast: SSR Botanical Garden, Château de Labourdonnais & Triolet Shivala

Transfer north to the famed SSR Botanical Garden (Pamplemousses) to admire giant water lilies and historic spice trees. Visit the colonial Château de Labourdonnais (estate & rum/fruit orchard), then proceed to Triolet to pay respects at Triolet Shivala / Maheswarnath Temple Complex, an important Tamil pilgrimage site. Evening free in Grand Baie—enjoy coastal shops and a seaside promenade. Wear modest clothing for temple visits.

Day3

Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao) Pilgrimage & Heritage Sites

Early departure for a full pilgrimage day at Ganga Talao (Grand Bassin) — the island's most sacred Hindu lake with multiple temples and towering deities. Participate in prayers, view the Shiva and other temple complexes, and learn about local rituals from the guide. On return, visit colonial heritage site Eureka House (optional) or nearby heritage attractions depending on time. Evening at leisure in Grand Baie. Photography rules may apply at some shrines—please follow guide instructions.

Day4

Curepipe & Central Plateau: Trou aux Cerfs, Tea Factory & Cultural Trail

Check out and travel to Curepipe in the central plateau. Visit the volcanic crater Trou aux Cerfs for a short nature walk and panoramic views. Continue to Bois Chéri Tea Estate & Tea Museum for a guided tour and tasting (insight into Mauritian plantation history and cultural influence). Explore Curepipe town, colonial streets, and local markets. Overnight in Curepipe — a relaxed evening with a heritage-themed dinner option.

Day5

Mahébourg: Aapravasi Ghat, Museum & Blue Bay Marine Heritage

Drive southeast to historic Mahébourg. Visit the National History Museum (Mahébourg) and then the globally significant Aapravasi Ghat (UNESCO) — the 19th-century immigration depot that shaped modern Mauritian society. Afternoon at Blue Bay Marine Park: optional glass-bottom boat or snorkeling to view coral and learn about traditional coastal livelihoods. Finish with sunset drive to Le Morne viewpoint (Le Morne Cultural Landscape UNESCO) for a reflective evening. Blue Bay boat trips are weather dependent and optional.

WhatsApp Reply Came Before My Panic Spread

Took my wife to Mauritius for our anniversary and honestly the coordinator assigned to us — Priya — was the real reason the trip felt so relaxed. One evening our hotel room had a maintenance issue and I messaged her on WhatsApp almost expecting to wait till morning. She responded within minutes and had it sorted with the property before we even finished dinner. Throughout the trip she stayed reachable, not just during office hours. Pre-trip planning was also easy — two or three calls and the itinerary was ready, no back and forth confusion. No hidden charges either, what was quoted is what we paid. Mauritius was beautiful, but having someone dependable in the background made a real difference.

Our Mauritius Coordinator Replied Before We Could Worry

Traveled to Mauritius with my wife last month, and honestly the coordinator TourGrids assigned us — Rahul — made the biggest difference. Before the trip, he was on WhatsApp constantly, clarifying hotel options, explaining what was included, no hidden charges anywhere. Once we landed, any small issue — a cab running late, a water sports timing confusion — he sorted it on call within minutes. Never felt like we were on our own on foreign ground. The hotels were proper good, itinerary had a nice pace for a couple, not rushed. Planning had taken maybe three conversations total. Just felt like someone genuinely had an eye on the whole trip throughout.

Mauritius Itinerary Built Over Two Relaxed Calls

I was honestly expecting the usual back-and-forth that comes with planning an international trip, but TourGrids surprised me. My wife and I wanted a Mauritius honeymoon that wasn't just a generic package, and the coordinator actually listened on the first call itself. We discussed which areas to stay in, how many beach days we wanted, and what our budget looked like — and by the next day, a proper customised itinerary was sitting in our WhatsApp. Flights, hotels, transfers, everything was accounted for. No sudden add-ons later, no confusion at the airport. The hotels were proper good quality too. Planning this trip was genuinely the least stressful part of the whole experience.

Mauritius Hotels Were a Cut Above

We almost booked everything ourselves but glad we didn't. TourGrids put together our Mauritius trip for two, and honestly the hotels they picked were the highlight — proper beachside resorts, clean rooms, good locations, nothing felt like a random filler choice. The cab transfers were very well timed too. Every airport pickup, hotel drop, and island transfer was already coordinated before we landed. We didn't have to chase anyone or figure out local cabs on our own. Our coordinator Priya was available on WhatsApp throughout and answered everything clearly before booking. No surprises in the final bill either — what was quoted is what we paid.

First Big Trip and Nothing Went Wrong

My husband and I were booking through a travel company for the first time, so honestly we were a little nervous handing over the full Mauritius plan to someone we found online. But from the first WhatsApp conversation itself, TourGrids felt different — no vague promises, just clear answers. They customised the itinerary around the days we had, the hotels were proper good (especially the one in Grand Baie), and everything from airport pickup to island transfers was already arranged before we landed. No last-minute confusion, no hidden charges on the final invoice. Our coordinator was reachable throughout the trip. For a first-timer, that kind of reliability matters more than anything else.

Every Mauritius Detail Was Already Thought Of

We were planning our honeymoon to Mauritius and honestly had no idea where to start. A friend suggested TourGrids and I'm glad we went with them. Got on a call with their coordinator, told him our budget and what kind of trip we wanted — beach-heavy, not too rushed — and within two days we had a full itinerary ready. A few tweaks over WhatsApp and it was exactly what we had in mind. Hotels were proper good, transfers were pre-arranged, nothing felt last minute. No surprise costs either, everything was communicated upfront. The whole planning process took maybe a week total. Mauritius turned out to be everything we hoped for, and a lot of that is because the groundwork was already solid.
