Arrival in Guwahati — Assam’s Gateway
Arrive at Guwahati Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. Meet and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city & riverfront orientation: visit Kamakhya Temple (one of the most important Shakti peethas) and enjoy a leisurely walk along the Brahmaputra Riverfront. Evening briefing about the 5 nights / 6 days itinerary.
Tip: Keep light layers—Guwahati evenings can be breezy. Early arrivals can opt for a short river cruise (seasonal).
Drive to Kaziranga — Evening Village Walk
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 4–5 hours). Check into your resort located near the park. In the late afternoon enjoy a guided village walk to meet local villagers and learn about Assamese rural life and crafts.
Highlight: Watch a vivid sunset over the grasslands—perfect for family photos.
Kaziranga Wildlife Safaris — Jeep & Elephant
Early morning elephant safari (subject to availability) into the park to seek the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, swamp deer and numerous bird species. Return for breakfast and relax. Afternoon jeep safari in a different zone of the park, guided by an experienced naturalist. Evening cultural program at the resort showcasing Assamese folk music and dance.
Important: Elephant safaris have limited seats—book in advance. Safari timings are subject to park regulations and seasonal schedules.
Journey to Majuli — River Island Culture
Drive to Jorhat and transfer by ferry to Majuli, the world’s largest river island and an epicenter of Assamese neo-Vaishnavite culture. Afternoon guided visit to prominent Satras (monasteries), local mask-makers and handloom workshops. Explore village lanes and interact with artisans who keep centuries-old traditions alive.
Note: Ferry schedules depend on river conditions; timings will be coordinated by your local guide.
Majuli Immersion & Transfer to Arunachal Gateway
Spend the morning in Majuli visiting village homes, a pottery or mask-making demonstration, and a short nature walk along the island’s wetlands. After lunch take the ferry back to the mainland and drive toward Dirang / Bhalukpong — the scenic gateway into Arunachal Pradesh. Evening at leisure to explore the local market and sample tribal cuisine.
Tip: Carry mosquito repellent for Majuli and light rain protection during monsoon months.
Return to Guwahati & Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati (approx. 5–6 hours depending on traffic and stops). En route stop for photos and short visits to local viewpoints. Arrive in Guwahati for drop at the airport or railway station for your onward journey. End of the Arunachal & Assam Discovery 5 nights / 6 days experience.
Important: Flight/train timings may require an early departure—confirm transfers while booking.
