Itinerary
Arrival at Dimapur & Orientation
Arrive at Dimapur Airport / Dimapur Railway Station. Meet-and-greet with the tour representative and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon orientation and light sightseeing: visit the Kachari Ruins, local markets, and the Dimapur Museum to get an introduction to Naga culture. Evening at leisure. Ensure you carry a valid ID and confirm Inner Line Permit (ILP) requirements in advance.
Kohima — Hornbill Festival & Cultural Immersion
Drive to Kohima (approx. 2–3 hours). Full-day immersion into the famed Hornbill Festival / Kisama Heritage Village (seasonal: usually early December) — enjoy tribal performances, craft stalls, indigenous cuisine, and folk contests. Visit the Kohima War Cemetery and local craft emporiums. Evening cultural shows and traditional dancing. Note: Hornbill festival dates are seasonal — check exact festival dates before booking.
Mokokchung — Ao Tribe Experience
Scenic drive to Mokokchung (Ao heartland). Explore Ao tribal villages, witness traditional house architecture, and visit the local markets. Interact with elders to learn about weaving, handicrafts, and Ao customs. Evening free to relax amid rolling hills. Suitable for families — gentle walks and cultural interactions.
Transfer to Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) — Riverfront & Local Culture
Drive towards Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) through scenic tea gardens and river valleys. On arrival, visit the Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary (if time permits), the riverfront along the Siang (Brahmaputra) and local tribal markets. Evening cultural exchange and short village walk. Carry light waterproof clothing in monsoon season.
Ziro Valley — Arrival & Evening Stroll
Drive to Ziro Valley (famous for its lush rice terraces and Apatani culture). En route, enjoy panoramic highland views and stop at viewpoints for photos. On arrival, check into your eco-lodge and take an evening stroll through the paddy-fringed lanes. Ziro sits at higher altitude — nights can be cool, pack layers.
Ziro — Apatani Cultural Walk & Talley Valley (Optional)
Full day exploring Apatani villages — learn about unique facial tattoo heritage (historical), traditional bamboo and cane crafts, and the famous paddy fields that form a UNESCO-hopeful cultural landscape. Optional excursion to Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary for nature walks and birdwatching. Evening cultural music or local community interaction. Respect local customs and photography guidelines in tribal villages.
Departure — Transfer to Itanagar / Guwahati
After breakfast, drive to the nearest departure hub (choice of Itanagar or Guwahati depending on onward travel plans). En route, stop for a final viewpoint and local produce shopping. Drop-off at Itanagar Airport / Guwahati Airport / Guwahati Railway Station. Confirm onward flight/train timings when booking the package.
