Itinerary
Arrival at Bagdogra/NJP and Transfer to Gangtok
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station. Meet your driver and proceed to Gangtok (approx. 4–5 hours by road). Check-in at the hotel and relax. Evening at leisure to explore MG Marg and sample local cuisine. Acclimatize and keep hydrated to adjust to the altitude.
Gangtok Local Sightseeing & Tsomgo Lake (optional)
Full-day sightseeing of Gangtok. Morning visit to Tashi Viewpoint for sunrise and panoramic views of the eastern Himalaya. Continue to Do Drul Chorten, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, and Enchey Monastery. In the afternoon, optional excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Mandir (subject to permits and weather). Return to Gangtok by evening.
Note: Tsomgo Lake requires permits and may be closed in extreme weather.
Drive from Gangtok to Pelling: Scenic Route & Evening Leisure
After breakfast, check out and drive to Pelling (approx. 4–5 hours). Enjoy scenic en-route views of terraced farms, rivers and mountain vistas. On arrival, check-in and take a relaxed walk to the local market. Evening at leisure with spectacular sunset views over the Kanchenjunga range from the hotel.
Pelling Sightseeing: Monasteries, Lakes & Skywalk
Explore Pelling's highlights: visit the historic Pemayangtse Monastery, the ancient Rabdentse Ruins, and the sacred Khecheopalri Lake (known for its pristine setting). Walk the Pelling Skywalk / Skybridge for exceptional views of the Kanchenjunga massif and visit Singshore Bridge — one of the highest suspension bridges in Sikkim. Evening at leisure.

Drive to Lachen (North Sikkim) — En route Scenic Stops
Early departure to Lachen (approx. 4–5 hours from Pelling via Melli/Teesta route with transfers). Traverse changing landscapes as you ascend toward North Sikkim. Check in at a simple mountain lodge in Lachen. Evening free to rest and prepare for the high-altitude excursion next day.
Carry warm clothing — nights get cold in North Sikkim.
Gurudongmar Lake Excursion & Transfer to Lachung
Very early morning departure to visit Gurudongmar Lake (subject to military permission and road conditions). Experience surreal, icy-blue high-altitude landscapes; limited time at the lake due to altitude. Return to Lachen for a quick meal and then drive to Lachung via Chungthang, arriving by late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel in Lachung.
Gurudongmar is at high altitude — carry oxygen if prone to altitude sickness and consult your doctor if necessary.
Yumthang Valley & Return to Gangtok / Departure
Visit the stunning Yumthang Valley (Valley of Flowers) and Zero Point (subject to permits and road conditions). Enjoy the hot springs at Yumthang if available. After lunch, begin the long drive back to Gangtok / Bagdogra / NJP for drop-off according to your onward travel plans. End of services.
If you prefer, request an extended drop-off in Gangtok to overnight there (subject to availability) instead of same-day airport/rail drop.
