Itinerary
Arrival, Ganga Aarti & Transfer to Hotel
Arrive at Haridwar (by train/flight to Dehradun + transfer) and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening witnessing the iconic Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri — a soul-stirring start to your Uttarakhand Pilgrimage package. Overnight in Haridwar.
Drive to Barkot — Yamunotri Base
After breakfast depart for Barkot, the gateway to Yamunotri (approx. 7–8 hours scenic drive). En route enjoy views of terraced fields and Himalayan foothills. Check in at Barkot and rest. Prepare warm clothes and comfortable trekking shoes for tomorrow’s early start.
Yamunotri Darshan & Drive to Uttarkashi
Early morning drive to Janki Chatti / Hanuman Chatti and proceed to the Yamunotri trailhead. Trek (or take pony/palanquin) to Yamunotri Temple for darshan; visit the Surya Kund hot springs. After darshan return to Janki Chatti and drive towards Uttarkashi (approx. 6–7 hours). Carry valid ID for temple entry and keep extra cash for local pony/palanquin charges. Overnight in Uttarkashi.
Uttarkashi: Local Sightseeing & Cultural Highlights
Explore Uttarkashi—visit the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Shakti Devi Temple, and stroll along the Bhagirathi River. Explore the local bazaar and learn about priestly traditions from Mukhba links to Gangotri. This day is kept light to help acclimatize and relax. Overnight in Uttarkashi.
Excursion to Gangotri & Mukhba Village
Full-day excursion to Gangotri, the origin of the sacred Ganges. Drive through pine forests and mountain vistas to reach Gangotri Temple for darshan. Visit the Bhagirathi River source viewpoint and nearby Mukhba village (home of Gangotri’s traditional priests). Return to Uttarkashi by evening. Altitude is moderate; carry layers and sun protection.
Harshil Valley Option, Leisure & Return Drive to Haridwar
Morning at leisure in Uttarkashi or opt for a half-day drive to the picturesque Harshil Valley — famous for orchards, pine-clad slopes, and Himalayan views. In the afternoon begin your drive back to Haridwar / Dehradun for an overnight stay. Enjoy a relaxed evening after long drives of the pilgrimage.
Departure from Haridwar / Dehradun
After breakfast transfer to Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport for your onward journey. Carry memories and photographs from this Uttarakhand Pilgrimage tour package; request assistance for onward transfers if required.
