Itinerary
Arrival in Ahmedabad & Transfer to Sasan Gir
Arrive at Ahmedabad Airport/Railway Station. Meet your driver and naturalist, then embark on a scenic drive to Sasan Gir (approx. 6–7 hours). Check-in at the lodge, unwind and enjoy a briefing on safari timings, safety and wildlife watch techniques. Evening at leisure with an optional guided nature walk around the property (subject to lodge availability).
Morning Jeep Safari — Gir National Park
Early-morning Jeep/Canter Safari into Sasan Gir — the best time to spot the Asiatic Lion, sloth bears, chital and nilgai. Return to the lodge for breakfast and a midday rest. Afternoon visit to Devalia Safari Park / Interpretation Center for conservation insights and closer views of resident wildlife. Evening: optional village walk or local cultural interaction.
Second Safari & Evening Night Drive (Subject to Permits)
Another pre-dawn safari to increase lion sighting opportunities and observe predator-prey behavior. Post-breakfast relax and enjoy birding around the lodge—look for peafowl, Indian rollers, and raptors. Late afternoon preparation for a night drive (where permitted) — an exciting chance to encounter nocturnal species and observe wildlife with spotlights under expert guidance. Night drives require special permits and are seasonal; subject to forest department approval.
Transfer to Little Rann of Kutch & Evening Safari
After breakfast, drive to the Little Rann of Kutch (approx. 3.5–4.5 hours). Check-in at a desert camp or wildlife lodge on arrival. Late afternoon Jeep Safari across the saline marsh plains to look for the Indian Wild Ass (Ghudkhur), blackbucks, desert foxes and a multitude of waders & waterbirds. Enjoy a sunset across the salt flats and a relaxed camp dinner under the stars.
Full-Day Wildlife & Birding Safaris in Little Rann
Start early for an extended exploration of the Rann — mix of 4x4 safaris and guided walks depending on season and terrain. Focus on the Wild Ass Sanctuary, resident mammals, and large flocks of flamingos and other waterbirds during the migratory season. Evening at the camp with local folk music and storytelling (seasonal).
Transfer to Ahmedabad — Nalsarovar Lake Visit
After breakfast, drive to Nalsarovar Lake (approx. 3.5–4.5 hours depending on routing). Arrive and proceed for a boat safari (seasonal, best Nov–Feb) to see a spectacular array of migratory waterfowl, pelicans, and flamingos. Late afternoon transfer to Ahmedabad for an overnight stay. If traveling outside migratory season, substitute with Thol Lake or local wetlands for birding.
Departure from Ahmedabad
Morning at leisure — optional short birding visit to Thol Bird Sanctuary or an Ahmedabad heritage walk for guests with later departures. Transfer to Ahmedabad Airport/Railway Station for onward journey. End of Wild Gujarat 6-Night adventure package.

Gujarat Trip Priced Better Than I Calculated
