Itinerary
Arrival & Relax in Negombo
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo). Meet your driver and transfer to Negombo or a nearby coastal hotel to recover from your flight. Relax by the beach or explore the local fish market and lagoon. Evening briefing about the journey ahead and overnight stay.
Important: Flight arrival time determines how much you can explore on Day 1.
Transfer to Kandy — Cultural Evening
After breakfast depart north-east toward Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. En route optional stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (if preferred) or spice gardens. On arrival in Kandy visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and enjoy a traditional cultural dance performance in the evening.
Note: Temple visits require modest dress (shoulders and knees covered).
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya — Tea Country & Waterfalls
Depart Kandy after breakfast and head into the highlands. Stop at scenic viewpoints and tea plantations. Take a tea plantation tour and tasting to learn about Ceylon tea production and taste fresh brews. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, often called 'Little England', with its colonial architecture, Gregory Lake and lush greenery.
Tip: Carry a light jacket — the highlands can be cool and misty.
Horton Plains National Park — World's End Trek
Early morning transfer to Horton Plains National Park for a guided trek to World's End and Baker's Falls (approx. 3–4 hours). The plateau's dramatic escarpments and mist-soaked grasslands offer superb photo opportunities. Return to Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon for leisure or a short town walk.
Important: Horton Plains is cold and windy early; wear sturdy shoes and warm layers. Park entry and guide timings are strict — early start recommended.
Scenic Train to Ella & Little Adam's Peak
Take the scenic train from Nanu Oya / Nuwara Eliya towards Ella (book seats in advance — second-class open windows recommended for photography). Arrive in Ella and trek up Little Adam's Peak for panoramic views of tea terraces and valleys. Later visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge and capture sunset photographs.
Tip: Train tickets sell out quickly on peak days — we recommend pre-booking.
Ella Exploration — Ravana Falls & Optional Ella Rock
Morning hike option to Ella Rock (challenging, 3–4 hours) or a more relaxed morning visiting Ravana Falls and local viewpoints. Afternoon options include a village walk, tea tasting or a short cooking class. Enjoy a relaxed evening with mountain vistas and local cuisine.
Note: Choose Ella Rock only if you have comfortable hiking experience.
Return to Colombo / Departure
After breakfast depart Ella and transfer to Colombo (approx. 5–6 hours by road). En route stop for photographs or short visits if time permits. In Colombo you can opt for a brief city tour (Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green, shopping) before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
Important: Ensure your international flight timing allows for the road transfer time. Ask about flight-time based transfer options.

Recent Sri Lanka Reviews
Sri Lanka Cost Less Than My Own Research
I spent two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forums. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I was piecing together myself. My husband and I got a 6-night trip with decent 4-star hotels, all intercity transfers, breakfast daily, and airport pickups both ways. No hidden charges when we actually paid — the final bill matched what was quoted on WhatsApp. The coordinator was easy to reach and sorted our Kandy to Ella train booking without us even asking. Booking independently felt more flexible in theory, but this was just better in practice.
WhatsApp Replies Came Before I Finished Worrying
My wife and I were planning our first international trip together and honestly had no idea where to start with Sri Lanka. A friend suggested TourGrids, and after a couple of calls and a long WhatsApp chat, we were convinced. They assigned us a coordinator named Rohit who was genuinely on top of everything. Any small doubt — cab timing, hotel check-in, local sim — he'd reply within minutes, even on the day we landed in Colombo. No waiting, no vague answers. Hotels were proper good, itinerary covered Sigiriya and Ella without feeling rushed. Pricing was transparent from the start, no surprise charges at the end. Really glad we went with them.
Sri Lanka Cabs and Hotels Both Delivered
Traveled to Sri Lanka with my wife last month and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were the highlight. Every property was well-located, clean, and a couple of them were proper resort-level — way better than what I'd have found scrolling online myself. The cab transfers between cities were also on point. Driver was always waiting at the right time, no confusion at checkpoints or ferry crossings. I'd spoken to their coordinator a few times on WhatsApp before booking and he understood our budget without us having to repeat ourselves. No surprises on arrival, no last-minute scrambling. For a couple's trip, that kind of reliability really matters.
