Overview
Itinerary
Arrival at Dwarka and Evening Darshan
Arrive at Dwarka (by train/flight to Jamnagar/Rajkot + road transfer). Transfer to your hotel and relax. In the evening, perform the first spiritual visit to the Dwarkadhish Temple for the sacred darshan and witness the serene atmosphere of the temple town. Overnight in Dwarka.
Travel time & tip: Depending on arrival point, road transfer can take 2–5 hours. Carry light luggage for easy temple movement.
Bet Dwarka Excursion and Local Sightseeing
Embark on a morning boat trip to Bet Dwarka, the island associated with Lord Krishna. Explore the ancient temples and the tranquil shoreline. After returning, visit Rukmini Devi Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga (if time permits), and the local markets. Evening free for personal prayers or exploring the quay.
Boat timings are subject to sea conditions; carry a light shawl for sea breeze.
Dwarka to Porbandar via Scenic Coastal Route
Drive along the Arabian Sea coast toward Porbandar. En route, enjoy coastal vistas and stop for photographs. On arrival in Porbandar, visit the Kirti Mandir (Mahatma Gandhi's birthplace) and the serene seaside spots. Evening free to explore local culture.
Note: This is a mainly road-travel day (approx. 3–4 hours). Keep water and light snacks handy.
Porbandar to Somnath via Junagadh (Optional Girnar Visit)
Depart Porbandar for Somnath. If interested and time permits, make a short detour to Junagadh to view Uperkot Fort and the base of Girnar Hills (climbing Girnar takes several hours — optional). Continue to Somnath and check into the hotel. Attend the soulful Somnath evening Aarti at the Somnath Temple.
Important: The Junagadh/Girnar stop is optional; customize as per fitness and time. Plan Girnar climb early morning if attempting — it is steep and involves many steps.
Full Day Somnath Darshan and Nearby Pilgrimage Sites
Spend the day exploring Somnath Temple in depth, visiting nearby attractions like Bhalka Tirth (where Lord Krishna is said to have been struck), Triveni Sangam, and the Prabhas Patan Museum. Optionally, arrange an afternoon/evening visit to Sasan Gir (if safari permits are available and you're continuing later) or relax on the coastline.
Tip: The Somnath complex is busiest during aarti times; plan photography and darshan accordingly. Carry modest clothing suitable for temple visits.
Departure from Somnath
After breakfast, complete any last-minute darshan or shopping. Check out and proceed to your onward destination (Veraval/Somnath railway station, or road transfer to Rajkot/Jamnagar airport). Service concludes with drop-off.
Travel note: Allow sufficient time for road transfers to the airport/train station; traffic and road conditions can affect schedules.

Gujarat Trip Priced Better Than I Calculated
I had actually done a rough calculation before calling TourGrids — hotels, cabs, flights separately for Gujarat. Their package came in noticeably cheaper and included things I would have skipped to save money, like the Rann of Kutch resort and all intercity transfers. Traveled with my wife and we had zero complaints. The coordinator shared a detailed breakup on WhatsApp before we paid, no hidden charges anywhere. Hotels were proper good — not budget-looking despite the price. Meals were included at most stops which genuinely added up. What surprised me most was how little we had to think during the trip itself. Everything was already arranged before we even landed in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Itinerary Built Over Three WhatsApp Calls
I had a rough idea of what I wanted — Rann of Kutch, Gir, maybe Dwarka — but no clue how to connect it all. Called TourGrids and they actually listened instead of pushing some standard package. Over a couple of calls and a long WhatsApp thread, the coordinator built an itinerary that fit our schedule and budget properly. My wife and I were travelling for our anniversary, so they also suggested a nicer stay in Kutch without us asking. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time, and the pricing was upfront with no hidden charges anywhere. Honestly the planning part felt easier than booking a flight on my own.
