Itinerary
Arrival, Old Ahmedabad & Riverfront Evening
Arrival at Ahmedabad airport/station. Transfer to hotel and short rest. Afternoon guided walk through the Old City pols for intimate street and portrait photography — capture ornate wooden doors, local life in courtyards, and artisans at work. Photo brief and camera check in the evening, then head to the Sabarmati Riverfront for sunset cityscapes. Tip: Pack a fast prime (35mm/50mm) for low-light street work and a mid-tele for portrait compression.
Drive to Bhuj — En route Temples & Stepwells
Early departure for Bhuj (approx. 7–8 hours driving with stops). En route visits include the striking Rani ki Vav (stepwell) in Patan and the geometric architecture of Modhera Sun Temple (seasonal opening). Arrive Bhuj by evening, check-in and evening shoot at Bhujodi and local craft markets to capture textile workshops and Ajrakh printing. Note: Vehicle stops for golden-hour opportunities will be scheduled.
Kutch Villages — Tribal Crafts & Village Portraits
Full day exploring the artisan villages around Bhuj. Photograph master craftsmen and women in Hodka, Nirona (famously for Rogan art), Bhirandiyara, and Anjar. Focus on environmental portraits, craft processes (block printing, weaving, metalwork), and candid village life. Sunset shoot at a scenic village or salt pans. Tip: Carry spare batteries and a travel tripod for low-light craft interiors.
Drive to Dhordo — First Glimpse of the White Rann
Scenic drive to Dhordo (gateway to the Great Rann). Afternoon orientation and short walks on the Great Rann of Kutch to capture the surreal salt flats—focus on textures, reflections (monsoon/puddles), and long shadows. Sunset at Kala Dungar (Black Hill) for panoramic vistas and sunset over the Rann. Evening spent in comfortable eco-camps with optional cultural performances. Important: Camera gear must be dust-protected; bring covers and silica packets.
Sunrise & Night Photography on the Rann
Early-morning sunrise shoot on the White Rann — ideal for wide-angle compositions and minimalist landscapes. Daytime village visits to meet local artists and capture life at the edge of the desert. Return to the Rann for golden-hour landscapes and an extended night-photography session (star trails and Milky Way depending on season). Tip: For star photography bring a sturdy tripod, remote shutter, and wide fast lens (f/2.8 or faster).
Little Rann of Kutch Safari — Wild Ass & Birdlife
Drive to the Little Rann of Kutch (Wild Ass Sanctuary area). Afternoon and early-evening wildlife safari focusing on the Indian Wild Ass (khur), resident and migratory birds, and desert-adapted mammals. Capture action and behavioural shots with longer telephoto lenses. Overnight at a comfortable lodge near the sanctuary. Note: Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed but guide expertise maximizes opportunities.
Drive to Sasan Gir — Evening Wildlife Preparation
Morning departure to Sasan Gir (approx. 6–7 hours). En route short stops to photograph rural Gujarat landscapes. Evening briefing on Gir safari schedules, camera settings for big-cat photography, and safety briefing. Sunset village portraits near Sasan Gir if time permits. Tip: Use 200–600mm or 100–400mm lenses for lion photography.
Gir Safari & Return to Ahmedabad
Early morning guided jeep safari into Gir National Park to search for the Asiatic lion and other wildlife (deer, antelopes, birds). Post-safari time for trophy images and guided review of photos with the photography leader. After lunch, drive back to Ahmedabad for evening departure (or overnight in Ahmedabad on request). Important: Safari timings are governed by park rules and may vary. Carry government-issued ID for permits.

Gujarat Questions Never Once Went Unanswered
Traveled to Gujarat with my wife last month and honestly the coordinator TourGrids assigned us — Deepak — was the real reason the trip felt so relaxed. Before booking itself, he spent two calls understanding what we wanted and what we didn't. Once we were on the ground, every small thing — a hotel check-in confusion in Rann, a cab that was running late near Dwarka — he sorted it over WhatsApp before we even had time to stress about it. Replies were quick, no vague responses, no 'I'll check and get back' disappearing acts. Hotels were proper good for the price, and there were no surprise charges at the end. Really didn't feel like we were on our own at any point.
Gujarat Itinerary Built Around Our Exact Pace
My husband and I had been putting off the Gujarat trip for two years because planning it felt overwhelming — Rann of Kutch, Gir, Dwarka, it's a lot to piece together. One call with the TourGrids team and honestly half the stress just disappeared. They asked proper questions — how many days, what kind of hotels, whether we wanted a relaxed pace or packed days. Everything got customised accordingly, no standard copy-paste itinerary. WhatsApp communication was quick, no chasing required. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time throughout. Pricing was transparent from the start, no hidden charges surfacing later. Felt like someone actually listened before they started planning.
Handed Over Control and Nothing Fell Apart
I've always planned my own trips because I never fully trusted a travel company with the details. This time my wife convinced me to try TourGrids for our Gujarat trip — Rann of Kutch, Gir, the whole thing. Honestly, I was ready to micromanage, but there was nothing to chase. The coordinator shared the full itinerary upfront, hotels were proper good, cabs showed up on time, and every cost was clearly broken down before we paid. No surprise charges at checkout, nothing felt rushed or generic. A couple of small questions I had were sorted on WhatsApp within the hour. For someone handing over control for the first time, that kind of reliability means everything.
Gujarat Felt Lighter With Priya On WhatsApp
We were a couple of first-timers going to Gujarat with zero idea about where to start — Rann of Kutch, Gir, Ahmedabad, all of it. Priya, our coordinator from TourGrids, sorted the entire thing over a few WhatsApp conversations and one call. What I liked most was she never went quiet. Any small question — which gate at the hotel, what time the cab is arriving — she'd reply within minutes. When our Gir resort check-in got delayed, she spoke to the property directly and kept us updated. No runaround, no 'I'll check and get back' disappearing act. Hotels were proper good, no hidden charges at the end. Really relaxed trip because of her.
One Call Fixed a Very Broken Day
We were two days into our Gujarat trip — me and my wife — when the hotel in Dwarka said our booking wasn't showing in their system. It was evening, we were tired, and I had no idea what to do. Called our TourGrids coordinator and within 20 minutes he had sorted it directly with the hotel and sent me a confirmation screenshot on WhatsApp. No running around, no extra charge, nothing. Rest of the trip — Somnath, Gir, Rann of Kutch — everything went exactly as planned. Hotels were proper good, cabs were always on time. Honestly didn't expect this level of support once the trip had already started.
Gujarat Trip Where I Actually Let Go
I've always planned my own trips because I never trusted anyone else to get the details right. This time my wife convinced me to try TourGrids for our Gujarat trip — Rann of Kutch, Dwarka, Somnath, the works. I went in sceptical, honestly. But from the first call itself, the coordinator actually listened. No copy-paste itinerary — he asked what pace we wanted, what we wanted to skip. Hotels were proper good, cabs showed up on time, no hidden charges when we settled the bill. The whole trip ran exactly how it was explained to us. First time I genuinely didn't feel the need to keep checking everything myself.
