Itinerary
Arrival in Srinagar & Private Houseboat Welcome
Arrive at Srinagar Airport or Railway Station and transfer to your private traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. Settle into the cosy wooden interiors with embroidered Kashmiri rugs and panoramic lake views. Enjoy a welcome drink and a short orientation. In the late afternoon, take a romantic shikara ride through the floating gardens and watch the sunset over the Zabarwan Range.
Evening: Candle-lit dinner on the houseboat with authentic Kashmiri cuisine.
Tip: Request a lake-facing room on the houseboat for the best views.
Srinagar Sightseeing — Mughal Gardens & Old City
After breakfast on the houseboat, enjoy a full day of Srinagar highlights. Visit the Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — the famed Mughal gardens with immaculate terraces and water channels. Continue to the Shankaracharya Temple for panoramic city views and then explore the Old City bazaars for Pashmina shawls, papier-mâché, and local handicrafts. Return to the houseboat for a relaxed evening and optional Kashmiri Wazwan tasting.
Note: Wear comfortable shoes for garden walks and be ready for brief walking on uneven paths.
Day Trip to Gulmarg — Meadows & Gondola (Phase I & optional Phase II)
Early departure to Gulmarg (approx. 1.5–2 hrs). Spend the day amid rolling green meadows, wildflowers, and pine-clad landscapes. Enjoy a ride on the Gulmarg Gondola (Phase I — to Kongdoori; optional Phase II to Apharwat for high-altitude vistas). Activities include pony rides, meadow walks, and photography.
Evening: Check into a cosy hotel in Gulmarg for the night or return to the houseboat in Srinagar (itinerary here includes 1 night in Gulmarg).
Tip: Carry a light jacket; temperatures in Gulmarg can be several degrees cooler than Srinagar.
Gulmarg Morning & Return to Srinagar Houseboat
Enjoy a peaceful morning in Gulmarg with a stroll through the meadows and breakfast with mountain views. Optional activities: trout fishing (seasonal) or guided nature walks. After lunch, drive back to Srinagar and re-board your private houseboat on Dal Lake. Spend the evening relaxing or taking another shikara ride.
Note: If you prefer less transit, this day can be modified to make Gulmarg a day trip and keep all nights on the houseboat.
Pahalgam Excursion — Betaab Valley & Aru
Depart early for Pahalgam (approx. 2.5–3 hrs). Visit Betaab Valley, known for its emerald meadows and filmmaking history, and Aru Valley for serene alpine scenery. Enjoy picnic-style lunch or local Thali at a hillside eatery. Walk along the Lidder River and opt for pony rides or short guided treks.
Evening: Overnight at a comfortable hotel in Pahalgam.
Tip: Carry sunscreen and a hat for valley walks; altitude is moderate but sun exposure can be strong.
Leisure Morning in Pahalgam & Return to Srinagar Houseboat
Spend a relaxed morning in Pahalgam — a gentle walk, river-side moments, or souvenir shopping. After lunch, travel back to Srinagar and return to your private houseboat on Dal Lake. Evening free for a private couple's experience — e.g., private sunset shikara and an intimate dinner prepared onboard.
Highlight: Arrange a private Kashmiri cooking demonstration or a photography session on the houseboat (prior booking recommended).
Departure from Srinagar
After breakfast, complete your checkout formalities and transfer to Srinagar Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. If time permits, a short stop at the Floating Vegetable Market or pick up last-minute Kashmiri souvenirs.
Note: Confirm flight/train timings and allow extra buffer for local traffic. Safe travels!

Kashmir Trip Cost Less Than My Spreadsheet
I spent almost two weeks trying to price out Kashmir independently — hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg cabs, Pahalgam stays, the whole thing. The numbers kept climbing. A colleague suggested TourGrids, and honestly one call with their team changed the plan entirely. They quoted less than what I had cobbled together myself, and the package included hotel breakfasts, all intercity transfers, and airport pickup. My wife and I did six nights, and nothing felt cut-rate — the houseboats and hotels were proper good. No hidden charges at checkout, no surprise additions. Our coordinator was reachable throughout on WhatsApp and sorted a cab timing change without any fuss. Would not have gotten this value going alone.
Kashmir Hotels Were a Cut Above Expected
We went to Kashmir as a couple last October and honestly the properties TourGrids arranged were the best part of the whole trip. The houseboat in Dal Lake was proper good — clean, well-maintained, and exactly what was shown in the photos. No surprises. Same with the hotel in Gulmarg. Cabs were always on time, drivers knew the routes well, and there was zero confusion at any transfer point. Our coordinator Priya stayed reachable throughout — sorted a small room preference issue on a quick call before we even reached the property. Pricing was clear from the beginning, no hidden charges added later. We were a little nervous handing over the entire planning, but it worked out well.
Kashmir Package Cheaper Than Booking It Myself
I spent two weeks trying to plan Kashmir for my husband and me — comparing hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, checking cab rates, calculating everything. Then I spoke to TourGrids and their quote came in lower than what I had already shortlisted on my own. Same category hotels, airport transfers, all meals on houseboat days, and a dedicated coordinator on WhatsApp throughout. No hidden charges at checkout, which I was honestly expecting. The hotels were proper good — nothing felt like a budget downgrade. What actually surprised me was how quickly everything got confirmed — two calls and the itinerary was ready. Booking independently felt pointless after this.
Kashmir Felt Safe in Someone Else's Hands
Honestly, I was nervous about handing over the entire trip to a company I had never used before. My wife and I had always planned things ourselves, but Kashmir felt too important to get wrong. A friend suggested TourGrids and after two calls and a few WhatsApp chats, I felt like they actually understood what we wanted — not just a standard package. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time, and every checkpoint on the itinerary was covered without us having to follow up. No surprise charges at the end either, which I was half expecting. The coordinator kept checking in throughout the trip. First time fully trusting someone else with our travel, and it paid off completely.
Kashmir Package Price Beat Every Quote I Found
I spent two weeks trying to plan Kashmir myself — comparing hotels in Srinagar, finding reliable cabs to Gulmarg, checking houseboat rates. Every time I added it up, the number kept climbing. TourGrids quoted me a package for me and my wife that was genuinely lower than what I'd pieced together on my own, and it included everything — flights, houseboat stay, hotel in Pahalgam, all cabs, and most meals. Nothing felt like a compromise. The hotels were proper good, not budget fillers. Coordinator was always reachable on WhatsApp, no chasing required. No hidden charges at checkout either, which honestly surprised me. Sometimes handing it over to someone else just makes sense.
Kashmir With a Company I Actually Trusted
Honestly, I was nervous about handing over our entire Kashmir trip to a company I'd only spoken to on WhatsApp and one phone call. My husband and I had never booked through an agent before — always DIY. But from the first conversation, the coordinator was patient, answered every small doubt, and never pushed us into anything extra. The itinerary felt like it was built for us, not just copy-pasted. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time, and there were no hidden charges when we got the final invoice. Everything matched what was promised. Coming back, I realised how much mental space I actually had on this trip — and that itself felt like a luxury.
